Intel 8255x Fast Ethernet Embedded NT driver Information

This embedded NT driver supports Intel 8255x ER Fast Ethernet controllers 



Driver installation procedure
================================================================

(1). Using the embedded NT component designer, open the .kdf file (e100ent.kdf)

(2). Set the file paths for e100ent.sys
	
	Do either of the following:

	     - Copy e100ent.sys and oemsetup.inf from the installation CD to c:\e100ent

	or

	     - Copy e100ent.sys and oemsetup.inf from the installation CD to the directory of your choice
	     - Using the embedded NT component designer, open e100ent.kdf and open the "network drivers" section
	     - Open the "files" section of the E100ENT component
	     - In the right pane, right click "e100ent.sys" and select "properties"
	     - Change the "source path" value to the directory where e100ent.sys resides.  Be sure to include the drive
	       letter, but do not include a trailing backslash ( \ )
	     - Click "OK" to save these changes

(3). In the embedded NT target designer:

	Select "component management" from the Tools menu
	Click the "add" button in the management window
	Find the e100ent.kdf file
	Click the "import" button
	When the import is finished, the list of network adapters in Target Designer will contain "Intel 8255xER Fast Ethernet
	 Controller"
        
(4). Build and Install your OS image according to the instructions provided with the Microsoft embedded NT Target Designer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
