README Driver File Contents (Sparq_original_drivers.zip)

Before you run the SyQuest Software installation program, please
run Checksys to check the IDE drive configuration in your system.

This program must be run in the true DOS mode. It can not be in the Windows 
or Windows 95 environment.

If you are in Windows or OS/2, exit Windows or OS/2 to DOS. 

If you are in the Windows 95, you need to shut down and restart the system.
You can 

A. Go to Start Run and type a:\checksys
      
or,

B. do the following:

   a. Hit F4 key when you see the "Starting Windows 95", or
   b. Hit Shift-F5 key at the Windows 95 Startup Menu, or
   c. Shutdown and restart the computer in MS-DOS mode.


To start checksys:

1. Change default drive to A: (or B:) at DOS prompt.

2. Type Checksys, or

3. Type Install.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
