Usage ---------------- This program can be used to silently monitor any PCSC/CCID smart card readers on the system and automatically connect to the cards when they are inserted into the reader. 3 versions for different operating systems are included in the installer: - Windows 98, 98se or ME: ACSReaderMonitor98.exe - windows 2000, XP, Vista and higher: ACSReaderMonitor.exe - All 64-bit Windows OS: ACSReaderMonitorx64.exe Usage of the program: - Plugin a PCSC/CCID reader and install the appropriate driver. - Install the application using the installer (if present) or copy the program to any folder and start it. Note: if the program is installed using the installer, the program can be started from the start menu. The default location is: x:/Program Files/Advanced Card Systems Ltd/ACSReaderMonitor (x: is root drive letter) - A tray icon (ACS logo) in the lower right corner of the screen will become visible. - Right-click on the tray icon to open a menu containing options to control the program. The following menu options are available: - Show/Hide Reader Monitor: Shows or hides the list of smart card readers being monitored. - Reader Monitor Options: Options to control the reader monitor window; these are: + Always On Top: The reader monitor window is always placed on top of other windows. + Save Position: Save the position of the reader monitor window. + Reset Position: Reset the position of the reader monitor window. + Transparency: Set the transparancy level of the reader monitor window (10% ~ 90%). Note: not available on windows 98/ME. + Show ATR: Shows or hides the card ATR (if inserted) in the reader monitor window. - Card Connector - On/Off: Turn the automatic card connecting on or off. - Load at Windows Startup: Load and run the program on windows startup. - About: Show the about-box. - Exit: Exit the program. 3. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
