Installation --------------- 1. Before installing the driver, unplug the reader first and make sure that you have installed pcsc-lite package for your Linux distribution. 2. Login as root. If you are already login as normal user, enter "su" command to become administrator. In Ubuntu, you can use "sudo" command with package installation. 3. To install the driver, enter the following commands: Debian (x86) # dpkg -i libacsccid_1.0.2-1_i386.deb Debian (x64) # dpkg -i libacsccid_1.0.2-1_amd64.deb Ubuntu (x86) # sudo dpkg -i libacsccid_1.0.2-1_i386.deb Ubuntu (x64) # sudo dpkg -i libacsccid_1.0.2-1_amd64.deb Fedora (x86) # rpm -ivh acsccid-1.0.2-1.fc14.i686.rpm Fedora (x64) # rpm -ivh acsccid-1.0.2-1.fc14.x86_64.rpm openSUSE (x86) # rpm -ivh pcsc-acsccid-1.0.2-1.i586.rpm openSUSE (x64) # rpm -ivh pcsc-acsccid-1.0.2-1.x86_64.rpm 3. Restart pcscd service. If the pcscd service cannot be restarted, reboot the system. Debian/Fedora/openSUSE # /etc/init.d/pcscd restart Ubuntu # sudo /etc/init.d/pcscd restart 4. Plug the reader to the system. You can list the readers from your PC/SC application. 5. To uninstall the driver, enter the following commands: Debian # dpkg -r libacsccid Ubuntu # sudo dpkg -r libacsccid Fedora # rpm -e acsccid openSUSE # rpm -e pcsc-acsccid 3. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
