How to install Aureal audio driver in Windows 9X OS
===================================================

1. Insert the "Driver and Utility" CD to CDROM/DVDROM device.
2. Double click [My Computer], double click [Control Panel],
   double click [System].
3. Click on [Device Manager] tab.
4. Click on [Refresh] button.
5. System will find new hardware "PCI Multimedia Audio Device",  Click on [Next] twice.
6. Please select "Specify a location:" only, and click [Browse...] to select 
    CDROM drive:(example D:)\Audio\L8B\Win9x\Driver,  then click [OK] to confirm driver location
7. Click [Next] twice times to start Audio driver install
8. Click [Finish] to finish "Vortex Au8810 Multifunction PCI Platform" installation.
9. System will continue install other multimedia function.
10. if system request you insert "Windows 9X CD-ROM", click [OK] and select the Windows 9X 
    source to "c:\windows\options\cabs" for Reovery CD user. (or you need to insert "Windows 9X"
    CD to CDROM device, and select source to CDROM drive)
11. if system request you the file "au10*.cat", it locate in Driver CD:\Audio\L8B\Win9x\Driver.
12. Restart system to finish installation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
