This product has the following restrictions and issues.  Please be sure to read this before using.

Installation
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The e-STUDIO e-Filing Backup/Restore Utility can be used commonly on all the e-STUDIO Series.  You can continue to use the new version of the e-STUDIO e-Filing Backup/Restore Utility that has been installed.

The TOSHIBA e-STUDIO series products are as follows:

Issues
======

1. Accessing performance may decline when the e-Filing Box contains many documents. 

2. Under the IPv4 environment, the e-Filing Backup/Restore Utility runs at 32 bits on Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista and Windows 7, the Security Alert dialog appears. Select "Unblock this program."

3. Limit the amount of data that can be backed up at once to less than 4 GB.

4. On Windows Vista and Windows 7, please do not select "Desktop" at the top in the dialog box while saving a backup file on the desktop in a user's computer.
You can save the backup file on the desktop in a user's computer if the following path is selected "Desktop"->"User's computer name"->"Desktop."

5. The length of the specified absolute path to "Target file" should not exceed 250 bytes.

6.When us use SNMP V3, be sure to start Local Discovery and configure SNMP V3 settings after updating software via CD V1.00/V1.01/V1.02 for the e-STUDIO6530C/e-STUDIO4520C series.

Troubleshooting
===============

1. Cannot find the MFP.
[Problem Description]
Cannot find the MFP even when the Local Discovery or Network Discovery feature is used.

[Corrective Action] 
Please check the following: 
- The MFP and your PC are correctly connected to the TCP/IP network.
- The MFP is connected to a different subnet and the default gateway setting is correct.

[NOTE]
- e-Filing Backup/Restore Utility does not support the GL-1010 or GL-1020 controller.  These controllers cannot be found by Local Discovery. 

2. Cannot connect to the MFP found by the Local Discovery
[Problem Description]
The Local Discovery finds the MFP, but you cannot connect to it.

[Corrective Action]
1. Make sure Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later is installed.
2. Make sure the Proxy settings on the Microsoft Internet Explorer have been made correctly so that your PC can connect to the MFP.
3. Make sure Microsoft Internet Explorer is not in the off-line mode. If it is in off-line mode, change it to the on-line mode.

[NOTE]
- Connection to the MFP may fail when too many PCs are connected to the MFP at the same time.  Please try to connect to the MFP again later.

3. Stops due to an error while data is being transferred. 
[Problem Description]
When the Progress bar is being displayed, an error message, "Internal Error Occurred" appears. 

[Corrective Action]
Transfer the data again after restarting the MFP and e-Filing Backup/Restore Utility.

4. Error Message 
When an error message appears, solve a problem with reference to the following descriptions. 

[Error Message]
"Invalid Administrator Password.
 Please enter correct Administrator Password."

[Corrective Action]
The administrator password entered is incorrect.  Please enter the correct administrator password.

[Error Message]
"Another user is using the MFP.
 Please retry later."

[Corrective Action]
Another user is using the MFP.  Please retry later after a while.

[Error Message]
"Failed to establish connection with Box.
 Please retry later."

[Corrective Action]
Initialization of e-Filing Box has not been completed.  Please retry later after a while.

[Error Message]
"Connection to MFP has aborted.
 Device is not found."

[Corrective Action]
Either the MFP power is turned off or the network is initializing.  Please turn off the MFP power and turn it on again, then retry later after a while. 

[Error Message]
"Internal Error Occurred."

[Corrective Action]
An internal error has occurred.  Please turn off the MFP power and turn it on again, then restart the application and retry.

[Error Message]
"Time Out Occurred.
 Please Refresh."

[Corrective Action]
A session timeout has occurred.  Select "View"=>"Refresh" from the menu. 

[Error Message]
"Maximum Document Limit reached under xxxx
 Please Delete or Move some of the documents before restoring"

[Corrective Action]
The number of documents has reached the maximum limit during Restore.  Please delete unnecessary documents and retry. You can create up to 400 documents in each box and folder.

[Error Message]
"Maximum Folder Limit reached under xxxx
 Please Delete or Move some of the Folders before restoring."

[Corrective Action]
The number of folders has reached the maximum limit during Restore.  Please delete unnecessary folders and retry.  You can create up to 100 folders in each box.

[Error Message]
"Selected Boxes to be Backed-up have been deleted,
 Please reselect Boxes"

[Corrective Action]
The selected boxes were deleted while waiting Automatic Backup.
Please select the boxes again and retry.

[Error Message]
"Disk is Full."

[Corrective Action]
The backup server or the PC's hard disk is full.  Please delete the unnecessary data using a delete function.  Retry after making sure that memory space is sufficient. 

[Error Message]
"Insufficient Memory."
"Disk in MFP is full. 
 Please select less number of Boxes."

[Corrective Action]
The MFP's hard disk is full.  Please delete the unnecessary data using a delete function and retry.  To execute Restore, decrease the number of boxes to be selected and retry.

[Error Message]
"Version is unsupported."

[Corrective Action]
The backup file of the old version is found.
Please contact your dealer for support to update the MFP's ROM version.  

[Error Message]
"Higher version is detected.
 Please upgrade the application."

[Corrective Action]
 The backup file of the latest version is found.
 Please update the application.

[Error Message]
"Cannot Connect to Box in offline mode. 
Please change mode to online from Internet Explorer."

[Corrective Action]
Internet Explorer is in offline mode.
Deactivate the offline mode in Internet Explorer.

[Error Message]
"Network Paths are not supported.
Please map the Network Folder with Local Drive and provide the local drive path."

[Corrective Action]
Designate a folder in the active computer to store the backup files.

[Error Message]
"Invalid Path Information.
Please provide a valid path."

[Corrective Action]
Invalid file name or folder name is entered. 
Enter a valid path. 

[Error Message]
"The Backup files could not be restored.
Disk in MFP is full.
Please increase the e-Filing space available."

[Corrective Action]
The MFP hard disk is insufficient to restore the backup files.  Delete unnecessary data using the delete function, and retry again.

[Error Message]
"The Backup files could not be restored.
Operation Timeout Occurred.
Please retry later."

[Corrective Action]
A session timeout has occurred.  
Retry this operation later.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
