2. New drivers and applications, which are installed from this CD-ROM, may not function properly if those of old TOSHIBA products are already installed on a PC and are removed after the installation of new ones.
In such a case, uninstall the new drivers and applications, then install them again using the CD-ROM.

3. Do not use the Repair setup on the PC to repair the client software, where Windows XP SP2 is not supported. Instead, uninstall the client software, and then reinstall it using the installer.

TWAIN Driver Version 3.1.68.0
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To use the TWAIN driver with the application, individual configurations may be necessary. Configure by referring to the following configuration or the application manual.

1. Imaging applications do not support reading an original containing B&W and full-color pages that vary in size.

2. TextBridge/OmniPage
Configure the following in the "Scanner setup wizard":
   1. Select "Show TWAIN Interface" in the "Advanced" configuration.
   2. Store one-paged original in the e-Filing box before testing the scanner.

3. Readiris
Configure the following in the "OCR wizard":
   1. Select "Scanner" to proceed.
   2. Select "<Twain><other models>" on the "Type" dialog.
   3. Select the "Configure" button on the "Scanner" dialog.
   4. Select a driver on the "Select Source" dialog.

4. Applications such as Acrobat do not support capturing through TWAIN; depending on colors, paper sizes, or several originals with mixed resolutions. To capture an image using such applications, capture each page individually or use the FileDownloader to save the same document first. Then open it from applications such as TIFF/PDF.

5. Use Custom Insert to capture documents from Microsoft Office.

6.When you use Windows Server 2008, install Desktop Experience via Administrative Tools in advance.
(1) Start > Administrative Tools > Server Manager
(2) Click [Add Features].
(3) Select the [Desktop Experience] checkbox and click the [Next] button.
(4) Click the [Install] button.
(5) When installation results are displayed, click the [Close] button.
(6) When you are asked if you want to restart your computer, click the [Yes] button to restart.

Issues
======

1. Accessing performance may decline when the e-Filing Box has many documents. We recommend you to decrease the number of documents by separating folders or boxes.

2. Performance of deleting pages from a document may decline when that document contains a large number of pages.

3. Retrieving a color image will require huge memory. Performance may decline or imaging may end in failure when imaging is performed with low memory. Necessary space of memory for color image is approx. 100 MB for A4/LT or 200 MB for A3/LD in 600dpi. The recommended memory size for the client PC is 256 MB or more to retrieve A4/LT pages, or 512 MB or more to retrieve A3/LD pages.

4.When us use SNMP V3, be sure to start Local Discovery and configure SNMP V3 settings after updating software via CD V1.00/V1.01/V1.02 for the e-STUDIO6530C/e-STUDIO4520C series.

Troubleshooting
===============

1. Cannot Find the MFP

[Problem Description]
Cannot find the MFP even when the Local Discovery or Network Discovery feature is used.

[Corrective Action]
Confirm the following:
- The MFP and your PC are correctly connected to the TCP/IP network.
- The default gateway setting is correctly set up if the MFP is connected to a different subnet.

[NOTE]
- The TWAIN Driver do not support the GL-1010 or GL-1020 controller. These controllers cannot be found by the Local Discovery function.

2. Cannot Connect to the MFP Found by the Local Discovery

[Problem Description]
The Local Discovery finds the MFP, but you cannot connect to it.

[Corrective Action]
1. Make sure Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later is installed.
2. Make sure the Proxy settings on the Microsoft Internet Explorer have been made correctly so that your PC can connect to the MFP.
3. Make sure Microsoft Internet Explorer is not in the off-line mode. If it is in off-line mode, change it to the on-line mode.

[NOTE]
- Connection to the MFP may fail when too many PCs connect to the MFP at the same time.
- Please try to connect to the MFP again later.

3. Cannot Acquire Document

[Problem Description]
Cannot acquire a document using the TWAIN Driver.

[Corrective Action]
The TWAIN Driver has been carefully tested with several TWAIN-compliant applications. However, some applications may require settings to connect to the TWAIN driver, or some applications that have not been tested cannot connect to the MFP. See the Readme file for the required settings in applications that have been tested. Also, an application that has not been tested may operate by enabling the Native UI of the TWAIN Driver or changing the Data Transfer Mode. For more details about TWAIN settings on your application, see the user manual for your application.

4. Image Corrupts When Acquiring Color Mixed Document

[Problem Description]
An image will become corrupted when capturing the document that contains both color pages and black and white pages, using the TWAIN driver.

[Corrective Action]
Capturing a color and black/white mixed document is not supported by some applications. In that case, capture the color pages and black and white pages separately or store the document as a file using the FileDownloader.

5. Cannot Change Resolution by Shrink To Half

[Problem Description]
Even though you enable the Shrink to Half function, the	resolution of an image that was acquired is not changed.

[Corrective Action]
The Shrink to Half function is available only for 600x600dpi documents that are stored in e-Filing by copy and print operations. This function cannot reduce the resolution of the image that is saved by scan and fax operation. You can change the resolution of the image in the filing box, by faxing or scanning it again at your desired resolution and storing it in the filing box, or by changing the resolution in the application.

6. Cannot Acquire Multi-Paged Document

[Problem Description]
Cannot acquire a multi-paged document from an application.

[Corrective Action]
Some applications do not support multi page scan from TWAIN interface or need to be configured to acquire multi-paged documents. See the user documentation for the application that you use.

7. Refresh Button Keeps Returning Error

[Problem Description]
Refresh action does not reconnect to MFP and keeps returning error.

[Corrective Action]
This behavior is caused by mismatch between the MFP status and the driver internal status. To solve this problem, please select the MFP again by selecting "Box Select"->"Select e-STUDIO" or restart the driver.

8. Cannot acquire Document when a message "Error In Getting The Page Data" appears

[Problem Description]
During acquiring a document using the TWAIN Driver, a message "Error In Getting The Page Data" appears, and you cannot acquire the document.

[Corrective Action]
The MFP is in a busy state or the inconsistency occurs in the internal state. Take some time before you retrieve a document again. If you still cannot retrieve the document, reboot the MFP.
