1. Upgrade from Infineon TPM Professional Package V1.7

1.1 Automatic upgrade

The Infineon Security Platform Solution setup includes an automatic upgrade of internal data structures. After installation of this version and logon as a Security Platform User, the system should have the same state and all Security Platform Features should be available for the user as with V1.7.
Nevertheless, you should decrypt your protected data, backup all credentials and settings and save Emergency Recovery data, before you upgrade to this version.

1.2 Manual upgrade with Upgrade tool "SpUpgrade.exe"

If there be any issues with the automatic upgrade, you can use the manual upgrade tool "SpUpgrade.exe" delivered with the Security Platform Solution Software. The upgrade tool can also be used to prepare migration from a V1.7 Security Platform to a Security Platform with the current version. The upgrade tool can be found in the Infineon TPM Professional Package installation directory.

Syntax:

 SpUpgrade <command> [archive_name(s)]


Commands to prepare old archives from a V1.7 Security Platform to a Security Platform with the current version:

 
 Upgrade User Backup Archive: 
 SpUpgrade 1 SpBackupArchive.xml <DESTINATION_ARCHIVE>

 Create System Backup Archive with User Backup and Emergency Recovery Archive:
 SpUpgrade 2 SpBackupArchive.xml SpEmRecArchive.xml <DESTINATION_ARCHIVE>

 Upgrade Emergency Recovery Token:
 SpUpgrade 3 SPEmRecToken.xml <DESTINATION_ARCHIVE>

Commands to prepare migration from a V1.7 Security Platform to a Security Platform with the current version:

 Upgrade Migration Archive:
 SpUpgrade 4 SpMigrationArchive.xml <DESTINATION_ARCHIVE>

 Create old Migration destination info:
 SpUpgrade 5 SpPubKeyArchive.xml <DESTINATION_ARCHIVE>
 
Commands for manual upgrade of a V1.7 Security Platform (if the automatic upgrade has failed):

 Upgrade user's Infineon TPM Cryptoki key and certificate archive:
 SpUpgrade 14 

 Upgrade user's Infineon TPM Cryptographic Provider archive:
 SpUpgrade 15 
	
 Upgrade user's TSS key archive:
 SpUpgrade 17 

 Upgrade Personal Secure Drive with backup:
 SpUpgrade 20

 Upgrade Personal Secure Drive without backup:
 SpUpgrade 21
	
 Complete user upgrade:
 SpUpgrade 27
	
 Complete system upgrade:
 SpUpgrade 28


2. Upgrade from older versions

An automatic upgrade from older versions is not supported.
If you have credentials, settings, and protected data created with an older version, then please proceed as follows:
- Decrypt your protected data
- Uninstall the old Security Platform Solution version
- Clean up internal Security Platform data as described in the help chapter "Frequently Asked Questions"
- Install this version
- Set up your Security Platform and users again as required.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
