Overview

This file contains the Windows XP tablet OS network drivers for Gateway notebook computer models listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below.


Identification

If you have a Gateway notebook computer listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section and are running Windows XP Tablet OS, install these drivers.


Installation

Download the driver file to the desktop, and then perform the following steps.

If you have not already done so, locate and double-click the D00557-001-001.exe file that you downloaded from the Internet and execute the file.  

1.  The files extract to the C:\Cabs\D00557-001-001 folder.

2.  From the Start menu, click Run.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\D00557-001-001\Setup.exe.  Click OK.

3.  The drivers install automatically.

4.  The computer shuts down Windows and restarts to finish the driver installation.

5.  Once back in Windows, make sure that the Bluetooth network is turned on by pressing the FN+F6 keys to enable.


Removal

1.  Utilize the same process as the install feature to remove the driver.   

Troubleshooting

If you are having problems with your driver, reinstall it by following the installation steps listed in this document. If the problem persists, remove the driver using the steps in the Removal section of this document, and then reinstall it.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
