Overview



This document describes the steps necessary to upgrade to BIOS version 611E3P04 for the C51GU01 motherboard.





Identification



This BIOS can be installed on a Foxconn C51GU01 motherboard, part number 105552.





Installation



The BIOS should be flashed if:



1.  You are updating to a newer BIOS revision.



2.  A technician has told you to flash or re-flash the computer.





Steps to flash or re-flash the computer using a CD burner drive:



1.  Burn the C:\Cabs\C51GU01P04BIOS\C51GU01.nrg file to a blank CD, using Nero CD burning software. 



2.  After creating the CD, place the CD in the CD/DVD drive, and then restart the computer.



3.  A menu will appear with two option, choose option 1 to flash the BIOS.



4.  The BIOS flash process runs automatically.  Do not press any keys or turn off the computer during this process.



5.  When the flash is complete you be prompted to remove the media from the computer and press F1 to continue.  



6.  Press the F2 key to enter the CMOS Setup Utility.



7.  In the CMOS Setup Utility, select Load Optimized Defaults, and then press ENTER.



8.  Press the Y key, and then press ENTER to select Load Optimized Defaults.



9.  In the CMOS Setup Utility, select Save & Exit Setup, and then press ENTER.



10.  Press Y, and then press ENTER to Save to CMOS and EXIT.





Steps to flash or re-flash the computer using a floppy disk drive or bootable USB flash drive:



1.  Copy all of the BIOS files except C51GU01.nrg from the C:\Cabs\C51GU01P04BIOS folder to a blank floppy disk or a USB flash drive. 



2.  Restart the computer with the floppy disk/USB flash drive plugged in.



3.  A menu will appear with two option, choose option 1 to flash the BIOS.



4.  The BIOS flash process runs automatically.  Do not press any keys or turn off the computer during this process.



5.  When the flash is complete you be prompted to remove the media from the computer and press F1 to continue.  



6.  Press the F2 key to enter the CMOS Setup Utility.



7.  In the CMOS Setup Utility, select Load Optimized Defaults, and then press ENTER.



8.  Press the Y key, and then press ENTER to select Load Optimized Defaults.



9.  In the CMOS Setup Utility, select Save & Exit Setup, and then press ENTER.



10.  Press Y, and then press ENTER to Save to CMOS and EXIT.





Removal



Because a computer must have a BIOS to operate, there is no removal process.  The BIOS cannot be removed after it has been upgraded.





Troubleshooting



If you have trouble flashing the BIOS, try the process again following the steps listed in the Installation section of this document.  If you are still unable to flash the BIOS, verify that you are actually attempting to flash the BIOS on a Foxconn C51GU01 motherboard.



Reason for Update



This BIOS allows both processors to be identified correctly in Windows.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
