Improved Windows 7 DirectX 10 support on Intel GPUs
---------------------------------------------------
Direct X 10 mode can now be run on systems with Intel GPUs (Graphics Processing
Unit) for increased compatibility and performance.
Minimal Impact Installation
---------------------------
DisplayLink Software installation will no longer affects the Windows Experience
Index (WEI) when initially installed on a Windows 7/Vista system. A full driver
installation now only occurs once a DisplayLink device is first connected.
Improved support for notebook lid close use case
------------------------------------------------
DisplayLink Software now recognises and correctly handles layout changes
following a notebook lid closure, even if the notebook has been configured to
"do nothing" when the notebook lid is closed.
Substantial bug fixes and improved stability
--------------------------------------------
This software release builds on R5.2 to offer increased quality across the
complete set of functionality on all OSes, including:
- Support for multiple displays with the same EDID
- Device connection and disconnection
- Uninstallation and upgrade
- Desktop layout management
- Power management transitions
- Driver compatibility
- Error handling
HDMI Support
------------
Software includes changes to allow all DisplayLink devices with HDMI
connections to gain HDMI certification.
Improved support for switchable platforms
-----------------------------------------
This software release improves compatibility with multiple GPU configurations
including some ATI/ATI, ATI/Intel and NVIDIA/Intel switchable systems.
Improved uninstallation
-----------------------
It is now possible to directly uninstall the DisplayLink Core software using
Windows's Add/Remove Programs utility, even if other DisplayLink software
packages are installed on the system. The uninstaller will confirm that you
wish to remove all DisplayLink software, and then proceed to remove all
installed packages off the system.

Fixed an issue affecting auto-install of DisplayLink graphics and Ethernet
drivers from SPI flash on some designs, that prevented auto-install operations

Fixed a blue screen on some NVIDIA Optimus configurations triggered by the
first connection of a DisplayLink device. (8252, 8272)
Fixed a blue screen on some NVIDIA Optimus configurations triggered by
restarting the Windows graphics subsystem when DisplayLink devices are
attached. (8300)
Fixed a misspelling in the Traditional Chinese version of the End User Legal
Agreement shown when installing the DisplayLink Software. (8352)
Fixed an issue causing DisplayLink screens to fail to wake from power save mode
when re-opening the laptop lid. (8413)

This release supports the following operating systems (server editions are not
supported unless explicitly stated):
- Windows 2000 SP4
- Windows XP SP2 (32-bit edition only)
- Windows XP SP3 (32-bit edition only)
- Windows Vista SP1 (32-bit and 64-bit editions)
- Windows Vista SP2 (32-bit and 64-bit editions)
- Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit editions)
Video: video is supported in extend mode with most popular video players on
Windows XP and Windows 7/Vista in WDDM/Aero Mode. Video support is limited in
other configurations including mirror mode and Windows 7/Vista Basic Mode.

- DL115 / DL125 / DL165 / DL195 devices are supported.
- DL120 / DL160 devices are supported.
- Earlier devices are supported for backwards compatibility.
I. Known Issues and Limitations
===============================
System behaviour with DisplayLink attached screens has been well tested.
Testing covers plug/unplug, mode changes, playing video, hibernate,
sleep/standby, multiple users, different user rights, attached screen as
primary screen, attached screen as only screen, and other aspects.
Some use cases my exhibit minor issues, general troubleshooting recommendations
are:
- detach then reattach the DisplayLink device's USB cable
- change display settings using DL-GUI (Vista only)
- change display settings using WDP.
- ensure you have the latest graphics
drivers installed for your system GPU.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
