Minimal Impact Installation --------------------------- DisplayLink Software installation will no longer affects the Windows Experience Index (WEI) when initially installed on a Windows 7/Vista system. A full driver installation now only occurs once a DisplayLink device is first connected. Improved support for notebook lid close use case ------------------------------------------------ DisplayLink Software now recognises and correctly handles layout changes following a notebook lid closure, even if the notebook has been configured to "do nothing" when the notebook lid is closed. Improved uninstallation ----------------------- It is now possible to directly uninstall the DisplayLink Core software using Windows's Add/Remove Programs utility, even if other DisplayLink software packages are installed on the system. The uninstaller will confirm that you wish to remove all DisplayLink software, and then proceed to remove all installed packages off the system. C1. Known Issues and Limitations =============================== System behaviour with DisplayLink attached screens has been well tested. Testing covers plug/unplug, mode changes, playing video, hibernate, sleep/standby, multiple users, different user rights, attached screen as primary screen, attached screen as only screen, and other aspects. Some use cases my exhibit minor issues, general troubleshooting recommendations are: - detach then reattach the DisplayLink device's USB cable - change display settings using DL-GUI (Vista only) - change display settings using WDP. - ensure you have the latest graphics drivers installed for your system GPU. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
