Install/Uninstall This software supports the following platforms: Windows(R) 95, 98, 98 SE, ME, NT 4.0 (Service Pack 3 or higher), Windows(R) 2000 and XP. If you are installing this software under Windows(R) NT4.0, Windows(R) 2000 or Windows(R) XP, you must be logged on as an Administrator. Please note that the USB Keyboards are not supported in Windows(R) 95 or NT 4.0. 1.1 Disk Space Requirements For a typical installation, each component needs the following disk space: Logitech iTouch software (1.6 MB), Logitech MouseWare (3 MB), Software Users Guide (.5 MB). 1.2 Standard Installation Insert the iTouch CD into your CD or DVD-ROM drive. If the Auto Insert Notification is enabled in your system, Setup will launch automatically. Otherwise, run Setup.exe from the root directory of the CD-ROM to install the iTouch software. 1.3 Uninstall To remove iTouch from your system, double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon in the Control Panel. Select "Logitech iTouch Software", and click on the "Remove" button. To remove Logitech MouseWare, or the Software User's Guide, select its entry and click on the "Remove" button. 1.4 Installation on Dual Boot Systems If your computer can boot both Windows(R) 95/98, NT4.0, 2000 or XP you must install the iTouch software on each platform and in separate directories. 1.5 Install Procedure for USB Keyboards If you have a Logitech USB Keyboard, plug the keyboard in your computer's USB port. Windows(R) XP, 2000, 98,98 SE, and ME should detect it automatically. Select the Microsoft default drivers. NOTE: The Windows CD-ROM may be required for this step. Once the drivers are loaded, verify your keyboard is working, then insert the iTouch CD-ROM and run Setup. 1.6 Keyboard Initialization Error message after installing iTouch If you are getting this message in Windows 2000, open System Properties, click on Hardware tab, click on Device Manager, then go to the Keyboards section, double click on your keyboard entry, click on Driver tab, select Update Driver, and follow the on-screen prompts. 1.7 Internet Explorer 4.x needed to view Help and User's Guide In order to view Help and the Software User's Guide, you need to have Internet Explorer 4.x or higher installed. 2. Using the Multimedia Keys 2.1 Supported Multimedia Players The iTouch software supports the following Multimedia applications: - Windows CD Player - Windows Media Player up to version 8.x - Plus Pack Deluxe CD player - MusicMatch(tm) versions 4.x and above - RealJukeBox(tm) versions 1.x, 2.x - RealAudio versions 7 and 8 - Creative PlayCenter versions 1.5, 2.x - WinAmp 2.x - Sonique 1.9 and 2.0 - LiquidPlayer 5.3 - CineMaster(tm) DVD Player - MediaMatics DVD Player - Toshiba SDMI202 - Sony PowerDVD - Intervideo WinDVD 2.1 - DVD Express 2.2 On-screen key effects may be incorrect or out of sync when pressing "Play/Pause" key When you press the "Play" key to launch the default multimedia player, the on-screen visual might show "Pause" instead. To correct this, press the "Stop" key then press the "Play" key again. 2.3 Double on-screen key effects superimposed on each other This can happen on computers that already have other multimedia keyboard software installed. To correct this, you will need to uninstall the other keyboard software using the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Windows Control Panel. This can also show up briefly when you press the "Play/Pause" key and "Volume" keys too fast. 2.4 Pressing the "Play/Pause" key may cause the Mediamatics DVD player to stop responding or freeze. This is a known defect in the application itself and we have notified them. You should check the Mediamatics Web Site for any available fixes or workarounds. 2.5 Using the "Play" key With iTouch installed, pressing the "Play" key will launch the default CD player and automatically play an audio CD if it is in the CD-ROM drive. When using the multimedia keys to play MP3s or other supported digital song formats from a playlist, the "Play" key may only launch the player and could be out of sync (refer to section 2.2). Some applications like MusicMatch will start playing the first song in the playlist. 2.6 Using the Multimedia Keys with DVD ROMs Before you can use the multimedia keys with DVD-ROMs, you need to launch the DVD Player application first. Some earlier versions of the Cinemaster(tm) DVD player software may not work with the multimedia keys. 3. Using the iTouch keys 3.1 Cannot save the default Search Page in IE 4.0 x or 5.x In Internet Explorer 4.0 and 5.0, no unique Web address is displayed when you click on the "Search" button to launch the default search page in a separate frame within the same Web page. 3.2 Cannot save Web Site while in an AOL browser window Currently, it is not possible to identify exactly what Web Site is being displayed when using this browser. To assign a page to your iTouch key, you will need to copy the address and paste it in the box in the configuration program that shows the path to the Web Site. 4. Contact information If you are experiencing problems with the iTouch keyboard or software, please visit the Logitech Web Site for technical help documents at http://www.logitech.com.
