Overview



This document describes the steps necessary to install and configure the Windows XP display drivers the Gateway computers listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below.





Identification



If you have a Gateway computer model listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below and are running Windows XP, install these drivers.





Installation



1.  The files extract to the C:\Cabs\D00458-002-001 folder. 



2.  From the Start menu, click Run.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\D00458-002-001\Setup.exe.  Click OK.



3.  In the Intel(R) Extreme Graphics 2 dialog box, click Next.



4.  In the License Agreement dialog box, click Yes.



5.  Files copy.  



6.  In the Intel(R) Extreme Graphics 2 Setup dialog box, select Yes, I want to restart my computer, and then click Finish.



7.  The computer restarts and the video drivers are installed.





Removal



1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.  



2.  In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.



3.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, click Intel(R) Extreme Graphics 2 Driver, and then click Change/Remove. 



4.  In the Intel(R) Extreme Graphics 2 Uninstall dialog box, click Yes to restart the computer.





Troubleshooting



If you have difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
