Introduction This Ethernet Packet driver conforms to FTP Software Public Domain Packet Driver Specification Revision 1.09 (Sep. 15, 1989). It supports many network applications, such as FTP Software PC/TCP, NCSA TCP/IP, Wollongong Pathway Access and NetWare for DOS workstations. 2. Contents of the Subdirectory ETHPK.COM The Packet driver for the Ethernet Adapters. 3. Installation 1) Install the Ethernet Adapter on your PC system, following the proce- dure in your Ethernet adapter installation manual. 2) Install your network applications. 3) Copy "ETHPK.COM" to the subdirectory created while installing your network applications. 4) Follow the instructions given in your network application menu to alter your system configuration file, then reboot the PC. 5) At the DOS prompt, type as follows to load ETHPK: ETHPK Packet_Int [IRQ_NO] [IO_BASE] where: Packet_Int The software interrupt number. The range is from 0X60 to 0X80 (Hex). This is a compulsory parameter. IRQ_NO The network adapter interrupt request line. The range is from 2 to 15 and the default is 3. This is op- tional. IO_BASE The I/O port address of the network adapter. The pos- sible settings are : 0x240, 0x280, 0x2C0, 0x300, 0x320, 0X340, and 0X360. The default is 0x300. This is optional. 4. Unload To remove the packet driver from the main memory, run ETHPK with '-u' at the DOS prompt, as shown below: ETHPK -u <Packet_Int> where: Packet_Int The software interrupt number specified during in- stallation. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
