Overview  



This document describes the steps necessary to install the Windows Vista and Windows XP Intel Chipset Device driver for the computer models listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below.





Identification  



If you have a computer listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section and are running Windows Vista or Windows XP, install this driver.





Installation



Windows Vista:



After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file D00811-001-001.exe, files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\D00811-001-001 folder on the hard drive.



1.  From the Start menu, in the Start Search field, type: C:\Cabs\D00811-001-001\INF_AllOS_8.4.0.1016_PV.exe, and then press ENTER.



2.  In the User Account Control dialog box, click Allow.



3.  Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the installation.



Windows XP:



1.  After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file D00811-001-001.exe, files self-extract to the C:\Cabs\D00811-001-001 folder on the hard drive.  



2.  From the Start menu, click Run.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\D00811-001-001\INF_AllOS_8.4.0.1016_PV.exe.  Click OK.



3.  Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the installation.





Removal



Windows Vista:



1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 



2.  In Control Panel, click Uninstall a Program.



3.  In the Programs and Features window, select the Intel Chipset device driver, and then click Uninstall/Change.



4.  In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.



5.  Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the removal.



Windows XP:



1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 



2.  In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.



3.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, click to select Intel Chipset Device, and then click Change/Remove.



4.  Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the removal process.





Troubleshooting



If you have difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.  





Reason for Update



WQHL’ed g33q35.inf. Previous .cat file was valid but not for this version of g33q35.inf. This suppresses the unsigned driver warning that appeared in 1014 build for Bearlake chipsets.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
