Overview



This is the video driver for the Gateway 827GM Media Center computer.





Identification



If the drivers were previously installed, the video card is identified in Device Manager under Display Adapters as ATI RADEON Xpress 200 Series.



1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.



2.  In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance.



3.  In Performance and Maintenance, click System.



4.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.



5.  In Device Manager, double-click Display Adapters.



6.  Under Display Adapters, if ATI RADEON Xpress 200 Series is listed, this is the correct driver.





Installation



1.  Download the file to the desktop.



2.  On the desktop, double-click the ATIRadeon6525.exe file.  The needed files expand to the C:\Cabs\ATIRadeon6525 folder.



3.  From the Start menu, click Run.



4.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\ATIRadeon6525\Issetup.exe.  Click OK.



5.  In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.



6.  In the License Agreement dialog box, click Yes.



7.  In the Select Components dialog box, click Express: Recommended.



8.  In the Setup Complete dialog box, select Yes, I want to restart my computer now, and then click Finish.





Removal



1.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.



2.  In Control Panel, double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon.



3.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, click ATI - Software Uninstall Utility, and then click Change\Remove.



4.  In the ATI - Software Uninstall Utility dialog box, click OK.



5.  In the ATI - Software Uninstall Utility dialog box, to restart the computer, click Yes.





Troubleshooting



If you have difficulty installing the new driver, download the file again, and then perform the installation steps.





Reason for Update



This is the updated video driver for the Gateway 827GM Media Center computer.  This driver resolves video issues with My TV in Media Center when using Captioning.
