Overview

This is the P07 BIOS for the Intel(r) BF86510A (Midway, Midway Plus, Midway 2 GV, and Midway 2 PE) motherboards. All previous updates are superseded by this update.

Identification

This BIOS is intended for USDA configurations using the Midway, Midway Plus, Midway 2 GV, and Midway 2 PE motherboards.

Installation

Prepare your computer

Before updating your computer's BIOS, enter the current BIOS Setup Utility, and then write down each of the current settings in the event that this information is needed again after the upgrade.

Note: The following instructions may vary dependent upon the operating system loaded on the computer.

Performing the update

1. After you have downloaded and double-click the BIOS update file (Midway_P07.exe), the files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\Midway_P07 folder on the hard drive.

2. Copy the contents of C:\Cabs\Midway_P07 to a bootable Windows 98 MS-DOS floppy disk.

Note: A Windows XP disk with system files cannot be used to run the BIOS update.

3. Insert the floppy disk into the floppy disk drive, and then restart the computer.

4. At the command prompt, type: iflash.exe. Press the ENTER key on your keyboard.

5. At the command prompt, press ENTER to continue.

6. To select Update Flash Memory Area from a file, press ENTER.

7. To select "Update System BIOS", Press ENTER.

8. Press the TAB key to select file P07-0043.BIO, and then press ENTER.

9. Press ENTER to continue.

10. Press ENTER to confirm BIOS installation, and then remove the floppy disk.

11. The computer displays a dialog box prompting that the screen will go blank and tones will be heard. Do not restart the computer or turn off power while the BIOS is being flashed.

Removal

A motherboard must have a BIOS to operate, therefore there is no removal procedure.
