Read Me - Zoom ADSL USB Driver Version 24.2.1.0 
---------------------------------------------------------------------

This USB driver supports Windows 98/98SE/Me/2000/XP and is for use with
the following ADSL modems:

Zoom ADSL X4 (Model 5551)
Zoom ADSL X5 (Model 5554)
Zoom ADSL X5 Annex B (Model 5524)


If you are installing the modem for the first time, you must install
the USB driver BEFORE you connect the modem to your computer.  


Follow the steps below.


1. Remove any previously installed Zoom ADSL USB drivers:  
	a. Turn the modem off.
	b. Go to Start | Programs | Zoom ADSL USB and run the Uninstall program.
	c. When the uninstall is complete, restart your computer, leaving the			           modem turned off.
  
2. Run Setup.exe from the "Zoom ADSL x4-X5 USB Driver" folder.  Follow the on-screen
instructions.

3. When the installation is complete, shut down your computer.

4. Connect the modem to your computer via the USB interface. 

5. Turn the modem on and then restart your computer.

6. The New Hardware Wizard will detect the modem and load the software for it.
  
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may see a Hardware Installation disclaimer box or a Digital Signature Not Found dialog box.  You can safely ignore these messages and click Yes or Continue Anyway.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
