Please read the following instructions for the software before installation.

Note: "Type1" means MFX-1200, "Type2"means MFX-1600, and "Type3" means MFX-2500.

1. Any and all copyright and any other intellectual property regarding the Software remain solely the property of Destiny Technology Corporation (hereinafter "Destiny") and MURATA MACHINERY,LTD. (hereinafter "Murata").

2. You may use the Software only in the country of your purchase and only for the purpose of using the hardware of Murata and other companies approved by Murata (hereinafter "OEM Companies").

3. You may use the Software only in compliance with notices and restrictions written in "Installation Manual" and other documents contained in this package.

4. You must not modify, alter all or any part of the Software. You must not make any attempt to discover the source code of the Software by any method including reverse-engineering, de-compiling, or de-assembling.

5. You must not sell, transfer, rent, lease or sublicense the Software to any third party by transmitting the software via phone-line or network, or by copying the software to floppy disk, CD-ROM, magnetic data tape or any other media.

PURPOSE OF THIS README FILE

This ReadMe file provides specific installation instructions, precautions, restrictions and other information of TWAIN Driver's Software for Type1/Type2/Type3 you should know before you install and use them. Installation instructions are provided for the following operating systems:

	* Windows 2000
	* Windows NT 4.0 
	* Windows ME
	* Windows 98
	* Windows 95

For the detailed information, refer to the on-line help included in each software component .

WHO NEEDS THIS SOFTWARE?

This TWAIN Driver's Software enables to scan the image with Type1/Type2/Type3.

This software is composed with TWAIN Driver.

Using this TWAIN Driver, applications supporting TWAIN, such as "Photoshop" and "Imaging", can retrieve the scanned data from Type1/Type2/Type3.

III. INSTALLATION/UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

The software has 3 installers,(for Windows 95/98/ME, for Windows NT4.0, for Windows 2000). Please use the adequate installer. You can install the software using Setup.exe file.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
------------------------------------------------------------

Administrator privileges are required to install the software onto a Windows NT 4.0 system and a Windows 2000 system.

Installation from Setup.exe

Use the installation CD-ROM (TWAIN Driver's Setup Disc), or network clients can also install it from the network directory, in which the contents of software are copied.

1. Close all applications. Turn off virus checkers and Terminate Stay Resident (TSR) programs. After installation, these programs can be turned back on.
2. Insert the CD-ROM (or Windows(R) 95/98/ME users may also go to network drive location as assigned by Network Administrator).
3. Select "Run" from the Start menu on your task-bar.
4. Browse to the Setup directory on the CD-ROM drive (or Windows(R) 95/98/ME users may go to a network directory location as assigned by the Network Administrator).
5. Select the "Setup.exe" file, click "OK".
6. Follow the prompts.

UNINSTALLER/UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
------------------------------------------------------------

This software do not contain Uninstaller.User can uninstall it from the Control Panell.

Starting the Uninstaller

Administrator privileges are required to uninstall the software onto a Windows NT 4.0 system and a Windows 2000 system.

1. Select "Setting" from the Start menu on your task-bar and select "Control Panel" from the submenu. On the Control Panel, click the "Add/Remove Programs"
2. On the "Add/Remove Programs" Dialog,select "TWAIN Driver" from the middle list.
3. Click "Add/Remove" Button.
4. Click "Yes" on the following "Confirm File Deletion" Dialog.
5. Follow the prompts.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
