This is incorrect. The current firmware's default is 7 for a -7 dB digital loss. In order to establish a 56K connection, S108=7 should be used. The firmware has been corrected to use 7 as the default starting from V1.1/A. This will only affect non-TAPI applications. The INF for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 sets the S108=7 and )C2 automatically for TAPI applications. Windows 3.x and Windows NT 3.51 RAS also sets S108=7. B. Internet Explorer 2.0 which ships with pre-Windows 95 OSR2 and Windows NT 4.0 does not support frames. If you get an error message stating your browser does not support frames, get an updated version which does. Internet Explorer 3.0 and Netscape Navigator 3.0 both support frames. C. The QuickStart Installation Guide for Windows NT 4.0 states you need to know what COM port your modem configured at in order to install your modem. Windows NT 4.0 will automatically check all COM ports and find your modem. You do not have to determine what COM port it is configured at before detection. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 9.
