RELEASE NOTES:

version 2.0.2.01120506:
- WARNING!!  A factory reset will occur when upgrading to this version.
- Correctly support drop/non drop flag in EXT TC mode (LTC, VITC, and DV)
- Support VITC on the Y/C and Component inputs
- Simplified EXT TC menu to only provide "SELECTED SOURCE" and "LTC" as options.
- Enabled genlock for record and EE modes
- Fixed the occasional long boot time lasting a minimum of 2 minutes
- Improved Headphone Volume control
- Renamed the REF VIDEO menu to GENLOCK
- Moved the H and SC phase adjustments into the GENLOCK Menu
- Corrected occasional OSD issue
- Corrected cropped IP Address on LCD
- The Y,U,V video adjustments are available only while COMPONENT out is selected
- Changed the Welcome message to display FS-2E and remove FIRESTORE.
- Corrected RS422 device id in PAL
- Adjusted the video levels
- Correctly handle booting with uninitialized or no disk
- Added new menus for Adjusting Y, U, V while in PAL mode or CMPST mode.
- Added Y, U, V adjustments to the web interface
- Added HDD Bypass to Web Interface
- All partitions on the local disk will be displayed first in the track list.
- Modified the behavior of the progress bar.    

INSTRUCTIONS:

IN ORDER TO INSTALL THIS SOFTWARE UPDATE, YOU WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:

1) Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP or Macintosh OS 9.1 or later computer system with an active OHCI compliant FireWire (IEEE-1394) port.
2) Focus Enhancements FS-2E DTE Recorder
3) 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire (IEEE-1394) connector (or 6 pin to 4 pin depending on your set up).  

To update system software:
Step 1: Using a FireWire cable connect the host computer to FS-2E's using the "To Computer" port.
Step 2: Press the HDD button on front panel of FS-2E, the FS-2E should appear on the host computer's desktop.
Step 3: From the host computer, copy the fs2.bin file to the FS-2E HDD.
Tesp 4: Unmount the FS-2E HDD from the host computer.
Step 5: Press EXIT, the LEFT soft key, from the FS-2E menu.
Step 6: From the FS-2E menu select SETUP followed by the OS UPGRADE.
Step 7: The LCD will display "Upgrade sytem firmware?". Select YES, the middle soft key. 
Step 8: A confirmation screen will display: "UPGRADE WILL ERASE CURRENT OS!! CONTINUE?".
	Select YES, the middle soft key. A status screen will display the progress of the update.
Step 9: Upon successful completion of the update, the FS-2E displays the message: UPGRADE COMPLETE
Step 10: Power down the FS-2E from the front rocker power switch.
Step 11: Power up the FS-2E.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
