INSTRUCTIONS:

IN ORDER TO INSTALL THIS SOFTWARE UPGRADE, YOU WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:

1) Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP or Macintosh OS 9.1 or later computer system with an active OHCI compliant FireWire (IEEE-1394) port.
2) Focus Enhancements FS-100 Portable DTE Recorder
3) 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire (IEEE-1394) connector (or 6 pin to 4 pin depending on your set up).  

To upgrade system software:
Step 1:  Set the FS-100 to DD DRIVE in the HDD MODE menu and connect it to a computer.
Step 2:  Copy or drag the fs100.bin file to the FS-100 while it is in DD DRIVE
	 mode.
Step 3:  Exit the FS-100 from DD DRIVE mode and navigate to the Utilities
	 screen.
Step 4:  From the Utilities screen, go to Upgrade.
Step 5:  Press Right. The upgrade screen is displayed.
Step 6:  Press Select.
Step 7:  A confirmation screen appears: press YES to continue. A status screen will display the
	 progress of the upgrade.
Step 8:  Up on successful completion of the upgrade, the FS-100 displays
	 the message: UPGRADE COMPLETE
Step 9:  Hold down the STOP / POWER OFF button until the FS-100 shuts
	 down.
Step 10: Power up the FS-100.
Step 11: From the UTILITIES menu select the SYSTEM RESET option. See page 72 of the
	 FS-100 manual for more information.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
