4. Cautions Regarding Fax Driver Installation
**********************************************************************
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing the Fax Driver Using the "Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A Standard TCP/IP Port needs to be installed in order to allow fax drivers to be added using an installer program. (This is usually already installed.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing the Fax Driver Using the "Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When installing the fax driver using the "Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor", create a different port to the one created when installing the printer driver.
You can create a new port using the "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard."
Enter the name or IP address of the MFP to connect to in [Printer Name or IP Address].
Enter a port name different to the one used when installing the printer driver in [Port Name] (such as "Fax Port").
Select [Standard Generic Network Card] for the type of device.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
"SNMP Status" Setting When Using the "Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When installing the fax driver using the "Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor", open [Configure Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor] and confirm that [SNMP Status Enabled] is deselected.

**********************************************************************
5. Fax Driver Cautions / Restrictions
**********************************************************************
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Changing the Port Number When the Raw Protocol is Set
in the "Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Raw is selected as the protocol in the "Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor", you can change the port number in [Raw Settings] (default value: 9100).
If you change the Raw port number in the "Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor", also change the port number in [RAW Port (Port 9100)] on the machine, and set the same value.
If the port number is not set to the same value, you will become unable to output from the fax driver.

The port number in [RAW Port (Port 9100)] can be changed in the Web settings.
For details, refer to the user's manual.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cautions Regarding Browser Settings When Using the Fax Driver Advanced Mode(Web Browser)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- When the destination for the fax driver to connect to is included in a proxy, the fax driver may not operate correctly.
Please don't use the proxy server for the destination address.
- If the security level of the destination for the fax driver to connect to is high, you may not be able to connect. In this case, register the destination in [Local intranet] or [Trusted Sites] in the browser settings.
- In the advanced mode of the fax driver, various extended functions can be specified using the HTTP protocol.
When using the advanced mode of the fax driver, specify the time settings and time zone settings for the machine.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Restrictions on Shared Printer Using Fax Driver (Simple Mode)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
By installing a fax driver (when Simple Mode is selected) as a shared printer on the server, you can use the PC-FAX Send function from a client computer. However, when Windows(R) 2000 is used as the client computer or server, you cannot use the Shared Printer Function that uses the fax driver (Simple Mode).

**********************************************************************
6. Other Cautions / Restrictions
