=================
HID Class Devices
=================
Because your Elo USB touchmonitor or touchscreen controller
conforms to the USB HID class specification, Windows 98/Me
supports it inherently with default HID class drivers. You
may notice that a touch will move the Windows cursor even
before you install this USB Tool for Windows.
However, you must install the USB Tool for Windows in order to
install and use the video alignment application (used to
correctly align your finger to the Windows cursor) and Elo
control panel.
=============
Release Notes
=============
- The control panel and video alignment applications will report
errors with one or more drivers if the 2.0 or 3.0 release of Elo
MonitorMouse serial touch interface drivers are loaded along
with the Elo USB Tool for Windows. These serial drivers do not
have the appropriate version to function with these applications.
You can avoid these error messages by uninstalling the serial
drivers.
- Windows 98 may "blue screen" if any USB device is quickly
unplugged and replugged multiple times. Again, this problem is
not specific to the Elo USB Touchmonitor or USB tool drivers.
Microsoft has corrected this bug in Windows 98 Second Edition
and ME.
- A touch will not wake the system when in Stand-by power save
mode. Move the mouse or press a key on the keyboard to return
from Stand-by mode. Disable Stand-by mode in the Power
Management control panel to avoid this issue when the USB
touchscreen is your only input device.
- Full Screen DOS sessions are not supported. However, windowed
DOS mode is fully supported. A touch to a full-screen DOS
session will cause your system to immediately return to your
Windows desktop. A mouse can be used to access programs run
in a Full Screen DOS session.
==========================================
Enhancements and Bug Fixes in This Release
==========================================
- Added support for Windows Millennium.
==========
Known Bugs
==========
- The touchscreen will not work properly when the mouse is
set for left-handed button configuration in the Mouse
Properties control panel. Touch will always perform a right
mouse function when the mouse is set for a left-handed
user.
- If you press the Cancel button on the Elo Touchscreen
control panel after using the Apply button, some of the
applied settings will become un-applied.
- Uninstalling the driver will leave the following benign
empty folder on your hard drive:
C:\Program Files\Elotouch
