**********************************************************************
4. Cautions Regarding TWAIN Driver Installation
**********************************************************************
When installing the TWAIN driver, refer to the user's manual.

**********************************************************************
5. TWAIN Driver Cautions / Restrictions
**********************************************************************
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Application Restrictions
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The TWAIN driver supports Version 1.6.
If the supported TWAIN version of the application software is earlier than 1.6, image data may not be able to be scanned, depending on the application software.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Restrictions on Retrieving Images With the TWAIN Driver
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When using the TWAIN driver in a network environment, multiple computers can specify the same scanner to retrieve images stored in the scan box.
However, 11 or more computers cannot retrieve images at the same time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Timing for Deleting Image Data (When [Delete after download] is Set)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If [Delete after download] is set when scanning image data on a computer, the image data stored in the scan box is deleted when scanning of the last page is complete.
If any of the following causes the download process to be canceled on the computer immediately after scanning of the last page is complete, the image data may be deleted even though it has not finished downloading.
(Examples of the download process being canceled)
- When an error occurs while extracting compressed data on the computer
- When the download process is canceled because the [Cancel] button of the TWAIN driver is clicked
- When the computer is restarted

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Restrictions When Multiple Applications That Support TWAIN Are Executed
on a Single Computer
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
When using a network environment to download scan data from the scan box by connecting to a specific scanner from a computer, you can start different application software on the same computer to download data from the scan box.
However, when using the TWAIN driver with a local connection (USB connection), if you start multiple applications that support TWAIN on the same computer and download/delete scanned image data, a communication error will occur.
When the above error occurs, do not execute multiple applications that support TWAIN at the same time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Local TWAIN Driver Restrictions While Performing Local Printing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When using the local print or local scanner functions with a USB interface, scanned image data cannot be downloaded while printing, and printing cannot be executed while downloading scanned image data.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Applications That Do Not Support Multiple Page Documents
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some applications will only download the first page when a multiple page document is scanned.
In this case, scan the pages one at a time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
When Selecting Multiple Documents to Download
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When you select to download multiple scanned image data files stored in the scan box, communication with the machine will be temporarily disconnected when switching files, because each scanned image data file is downloaded separately.
If another computer downloads a file during this time, the download process may be canceled because the scanner is in use.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
When Using Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Photo Editor)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you change the scan size or resolution for each page and then download scanned documents together, only the first page may be downloaded.
In such a case, download each page separately, or specify [Resolution] and [Fixed image size] in the TWAIN driver.
If you set the scan size to [Auto] in the machine and use the ADF to scan a multiple page document, the second and subsequent pages may not be scanned.
In this case, scan the document with the scan size set to something other than [Auto] on the machine.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
When Using Microsoft Office Photo Editor
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you set the pixel type to [Grayscale] and scan a document with a large file size, the document may not be scanned correctly.
In this case, you may be able to scan the document correctly by setting the pixel type to [B/W].

**********************************************************************
6. Other Cautions / Restrictions
**********************************************************************
When using the energy saving (standby) function of a computer that is using the printer driver with a local connection, re-connect the USB cable after resuming the computer.
