				  Please use the new UNBEFCM.exe in "patch" directory.

Installation:
-------------
Installing the NDIS5 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 98(SE) or ME or 2000 or XP

1. Plug Linksys USB cable modem adapter into one of USB Port.
2. Turn the power ON, then boot from Windows.
3. Wait for the CM running in the operational state(registration O.K.).
4. When Windows prompts with "USB Composite Device" in
   "New Hardware Found" dialog box, click the "Next" button.
5. Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)"
   form the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click the
   "Next" button.
6. Insert the Linksys's Driver CD in your CD-ROM:\ of your PC.
7. Select "CD-ROM" and type Path "CD-ROM:\" in the
   "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click the "Next" button.
8. Click the "Next" button in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
9. Windows will prompt with "Linksys BEFCMU10 EtherFast Cable Modem with USB"
   in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
10. Click the "Next" button in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then
    Windows will copy the driver (BEFCMU10.SYS) from CD-ROM:\
    to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and the BEFCMU10.INF file from CD-ROM:\
    to the C:\WINDOWS\INF\OTHER directory.
11. When Windows prompts with "Linksys BEFCMU10 EtherFast Cable Modem with USB"
    in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, click the "Finish" button.
12. Remove the Linksys USB Driver CD from CD-ROM.
13. Restart your computer to initialize the network function.

Uninstallation:
-------------
Uninstalling the NDIS5 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 98/98SE/ME/2000/XP

1. Copy updated CD-ROM:\patch\UNBEFCM.exe to Windows directory to overwrite the old file.
	 - c:\Windows  for Windows 98/98SE/ME/XP
     - c:\WinNT    for Windows 2000
2. Unplug USB cable from USB port on computer or cable modem.
3. Click " Start " button, then " Settings ", then click " Control Panel ".
4. Select " Add/Remove Programs " in Control Panel, then under
   " Install/Uninstall " tab, select 'Linksys BEFCMU10 EtherFast Cable Modem with USB' 
    for uninstallation.
5. Now the USB Cable Modem Adapter is removed from your system completely.
   All the INF/SYS files and Registry Keys are removed.
   

The driver (BEFCMU10.SYS) conforms to the Network Driver Interface
Specification (NDIS) 5.0, and is used with Microsoft Windows 98/98SE/ME,
or Windows 2000/XP (NT 5.0).

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
