Version 4.15 August 3rd, 2000



This package contains the non-failover driver files with the 

following version numbers: 

·ð pcntn4m.sys ver 4.15 - NDIS4 miniport driver for Windows NT/ 9x 

·ð pcnet9x.exe ver 4.13 - DMI application for Windows 9x 



WHAT'S NEW IN THIS RELEASE

1. Support for fiber based NICs has been added. Options have been 

   added to the netamd.inf to select the media speed for fiber-based 

   NICs. 

2. Support for 802.1p protocol has been added. The DMI application 

   has been enhanced to support QOS (Quality of Service) features.

3. The the rc file (pcntn3.rc) has been modified so that

   failover messages are now logged in the Event Log. 

4. Fixed missing RX interrupt

5. Fixed OWNERMAP registry bug.

6. Fixed issue with opening driver properties box and not making 

   changes and having NT ask if you would like to restart the system.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
