LOGIC CONTROLS PROGRAMMABLE CASH DRAWER ======================================= 10/27/2005 This programming utility is for setting up the drawer opening codes for the Logic Controls programmable cash drawers. Following cash drawer models are supported: CR1603 CR1606 CR1803 CR1806 CR3003 The utility software does not need setup procedure. Just copy the file "CRedit.exe" to any target folder on the hard disk. If you have the USB interface cash drawers, please install USB driver first before installing the OPOS drivers. For smart serial drawers, make sure the COM port number used is identified correctly and the DC power adapter is plugged into an AC outlet. SETTING UP CASH DRAWER OPENING CODE ----------------------------------- 1. With Windows Explorer, double click on the file "CRedit" to start the utiltiy software. 2. Select COM port name on the utility start up screen as shown under Device Manager and click OK. 3. Enter number of bytes to be used for the opening code in the "Bytes in command" box (1 to 5). 4. Enter the decimal code values in the boxes Cmd Code1 to Cmd Code5. For example, enter '7' for "Ctrl-G" to open the drawer. If the code is less than 5 bytes, codes in the additional boxes will be ignored. 6. Click "Write to CR" button to write settings to the cash drawer. 7. Set up the POS retail software with same opening code and COM port name for the cash drawer. 8. Test with the POS retail software. Note: For security reason, it's recommended that the programming utility software should not be copied onto the cashier station computer to avoid unauthorized change of the opening codes. SETTING UP CASH DRAWER TO WORK WITH OPOS DRIVERS ------------------------------------------------ If the POS application software works with OPOS, please install the Logic Controls cash drawer OPOS driver. The latest version of OPOS driver can be downloaded from our web site. The cash drawer also has to be programmed to OPOS mode. 1. With Windows Explorer, double click on the file "CRedit" to start the utility software. 2. Select COM port name on the utility start up screen as shown under Device Manager and click OK. 3. Check the checkbox for "OPOS/JPOS". 4. Click "Write to CR" button to write settings to the cash drawer. 5. In OPOS driver setup, set the COM port name and test opening the drawer. 6. Test with the POS retail software. Note: After OPOS mode is enabled, the drawer can only be opened through the OPOS driver. It will no longer response to the normal opening codes. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
