A-Link 3GU upgrade instructions

Note!! Repair below items before upgrading 3GU

	1. Remove SIM card from 3GU and plug it to your PC USB port.
	2. Do not use any extended USB cables during upgrade.
	3. If desktop PC: Do not connect 3GU to front panel USB port.
           Use USB ports directly on motherboard.
	4. Make sure 3GU is properly installed.
	5. Disable anti-virus software before upgrade.
	6. You need to have administrative rights to complete this upgrade.
		Vista: you can run upgrade exe file as administrator,
                       just right-click file and choose "Run as administrator".
		XP:    you need to have administrative right to your account.

Upgrading steps:

1. Unzip upgrade package to you hard drive (example to your Desktop).
   Upgrade file name is 3GU_Vxx_x_upgrade.exe. **
2. Close Connection Manager.
2. Open upgrade file 3GU_Vxx_x_upgrade.exe. **
3. Upgrade progress begins. Please wait, upgrade might take 7 to 10 minutes to complete.
4. After upgrade finished, Connection Manager will appear and your 3GU is upgraded.
5. You need to uninstall old Connection Manager from your computer and install it
   again to get updated Connection Manager in use.


NOTE! If you have problem during upgrade and Windows needs to install driver for device named A-LINK,
      you need to get drivers for it from \upg_drv -folder included in this upgrade package.


** Vxx_x on file name means version number (example V30_3).

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
