PROBLEMS DURING INSTALLATION ---------------------------- - Make sure that you are logged onto the computer/Network with an account who can make printer configuration changes (i.e. Administrator). - Make sure that all other software applications are closed before attempting to install the Panafax Printer Driver. - Installation of Multiple Panafax Printer Drivers at the same time is not allowed. Therefore, before attempting to reinstall the driver, make sure that you Remove the current installed Panafax Printer Driver from the Control Panel. - Make sure to Close the Control Panel after each "ADD" or "DELETE" execution of the driver, in order to avoid an error message or data corruption. ==================================================================== 2. ABOUT THE PRINTER DRIVER ==================================================================== PRINT MANAGEMENT ---------------- - Since the PC does all the rasterize management, the printing speed is dependent upon the PC's capabilities. FONTS ----- - For best print results, use TrueType(R) fonts. DITHERING AND INTENSITY CONTROL ------------------------------- - When colored picture and dithering are overlapping, the text may be illegible or not print properly. If this occurs, adjust the Dithering and/or Intensity Control in the Options Menu of the Driver. DITHERING --------- - Dithering will reset to the default setting (Coarse) when the Resolution is changed. In this case, adjust the Dithering setting back to your specific needs. WHEN "MEMORY ALLOCATION ERROR" OCCURS ------------------------------------- - If you encounter this message, close any other application or restart Windows then reprint. If this reoccurs, it is recommended that you increase the number of Virtual Memory in the Control Panel, or add additional Random Access Memory (RAM) to your PC. - If you are not using the Print Manager, you may not be able to reprint after the "Memory Allocation Error" occurs. In this case, restart Windows and retry printing. PRINT DRIVER'S ERROR MESSAGE ---------------------------- - The driver's error messages (i.e. "MEMORY ALLOCATION ERROR") sometimes may not be visible as it could be hiding behind another application's dialog box. In this case, switch to the application you are printing to display the error message. COLOR CHARACTERS ---------------- - Colored Characters (not black), may not print well depending on the size or type of character. If this occurs, adjusting the Dithering and/or Intensity Control of the driver may improve the print quality. ENLARGED AND REDUCED PRINT AREA OF THE DOCUMENT ----------------------------------------------- - The Fax unit's printing area varies slightly from that of a document printer. The printed data is enlarged by approximately 2% vertically and is reduced by approximately 1% horizontally. These are due to the resolution difference between a document printer and a facsimile printer. FAX MAY PRODUCE GARBLED OUTPUT AFTER A PRINT JOB IS DELETED ----------------------------------------------------------- - When multiple print jobs are entered, the printer may reproduce garbled output on jobs printed after a print job that was canceled. This is a known Windows NT 4.0 problem. Delete all the other pending jobs and then turn the fax machine off and then back on to clear the machine's printer buffer.
