SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ************************************************************ 1. The software included with this distribution package is designed to operate with the following chipset configuration: Intel(R) Havendale/Auburndale Express Chipset Family 2. The distribution package is a Windows Self Extracting ZIP archive file and must be run from Windows. 3. The actual utility can only be executed on system booted to a true MS DOS 6.22 or greater OS. It will not function from a Windows shell. 4. The kit software should be installed on a system with at least 32 MB of system memory. 3. For software installation, the system should have sufficient hard disk space in the <TEMP> directory (typically C:\WINDOWS\TEMP). Please check with your system provider to determine the operating system and Intel chipset currently used in your system. ************************************************************ * 3. INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE ************************************************************ 1. Check the System Requirements. 2. Close any running applications. Otherwise, you may experience difficulties. 3. From a Windows OS, execute the distribution package file, named iilkdiag.exe. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions and extract the contents to a floppy or hard drive directory. NOTE: The package will not extract the files to a root directory of a floppy disk. If you specify "A:\" as the destination it may fail. Choose a subdirectory such as "A:\diags" to extract to instead. When complete the utility files will be located at "A:\diags\bin\..." 5. Boot the system to DOS 6.22 or greater. Locate the directory or media where the distrubution package was extracted. 6. In the extraction directory, 2 subdirectories should be listed, \bin and \doc. Below the \bin directory are the actual DOS exectables. The \doc directory will contain the corresponding documentation files. This process simply installs the distribution packages on your system, in the user-specified directory (i.e., <Installation Directory>). For more information on the contents of each item, refer to the README.TXT file in the individual software packages included with this distribution package. Refer to the RELNOTES.HTM file for the latest information about the utility. ************************************************************ * 4. VERIFYING THE SOFTWARE INSTALLATION ************************************************************ NOTE: This procedure assumes that the software has been installed in the directory selected in Section 3 (i.e., <Installation Directory>). 1. Run Windows Explorer. 2. Verify the presence of the files listed in Section 1, Contents of the Distribution Package. ************************************************************ * INTEL SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT * (OEM/IHV/ISV Distribution & Single User) ************************************************************ INTEL SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT (Final, Organizational User) IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE COPYING, INSTALLING OR USING.
