Section 1: XP New Installation

1. Plug in the USB cable to the unit and your computer. 
2. Turn on your unit.
3. A found new hardware wizard will appear on your screen.
4. (Optional) Choose "No, not this time" when asked to search the web for a driver.
5. Choose "Install from a list or a specific location"
6. Click Next.
7. Choose "Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install" 
8. Click Next
9. If prompted for Hardware type, choose "Printer".
10. Click Have Disk...
11. Click Browse
12. Click My Computer - Open the C-Drive - Click on the appropriate driver folder - Click on the .inf file that appears in the folder. (Example folder names: DPSEDriver, DPProDriver, DPIIDriver, CL810Driver, etc.)
13. Click Open
14. Click OK
15. Click Next
16. You may be prompted that the driver is not digitally signed or doesn't pass Windows Logo Testing.  Click Continue Anyway.
17. Driver files will be installed.  Click Finish.

Section 2: Vista New Installation

1. Connect the usb cable and power cable to the unit.
2. A Found New Hardware window will appear. Click "Locate and install driver software."
3. The computer screen will now become a few shades darker and the following message will appear. "Windows needs your permission to continue." This is a normal Windows Vista message for all software installation. Click "Continue."
4. Click "I don't have the disc. Show me other options."
5. Click "Browse my computer for driver software."
6. Click the "Browse" button to locate the driver software. 
7. Use the scroll bar to find the C-Drive. Click the triangle to open it. Click the appropriate driver folder for your printer. Click "OK." (Example folder names: DPSEDriver, DPProDriver, DPIIDriver, CL810Driver etc.)
8. The path to the driver folder will now be displayed. Verify it is correct. Click "Next."
9. A window will appear stating that "Windows can't verify the publisher of this software." This is completely normal. You must click Install this driver software anyway to complete the installation. 
10. An "Installing software" message will appear.
11. You should receive a message stating the software has been installed successfully. Click "Close."

Section 3: Updating an Existing Driver in Vista or XP

1. Go to the Start Menu - Control Panel - Printers and Faxes
2. Right click on the Printer - Choose Properties
3. Click on the Advanced Tab
4. Click on New Driver
5. Click Next
6. Click Have Disk...
7. Click Browse
8. Click My Computer - Open the C-Drive - Click on the appropriate driver folder - Click on the .inf file that appears in the folder.
9. Click Open
10. Click OK
11. Click Next
12. Click Finish
13. You will be prompted that the driver doesn't pass Windows Logo Testing or the publisher can not be verified.  Click Continue Anyway or Install Anyway.
14. Driver files will be installed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
