1. Introduction:

   This Ethernet LANtastic AI-LANBIOS Compatible Driver supports 802.3 and
   XEROX frame type.  Ensure that you have an adapter-independent version
   of the LANtastic product and the LANtastic NOS/AI, since AE-2 LANtastic
   v3.02 or later can no longer work with non-Artisoft hardware.


2. Contents of the Subdirectory:

      PNPLAN.EXE      The LANtastic AI-LANBIOS compatible driver that
                      works with LANtastic v4.1 and AILANBIOS v3.01.


3. Installation

   1) Install the PNP Card on your system, following the procedure de-
      scribed in your Ethernet adapter user's manual.

   2) Install the LANtastic product following the directions in your LAN-
      tastic Network Operating System User Manual.  Then choose the type
      of the LAN adapter and driver; for instance, NE2000.

   3) After installation, edit STARTNET.BAT to replace the line "NEX000..."
      with "PNPLAN VERBOSE", as the following example shown:

    4) Copy PNPLAN.EXE from the Ethernet Driver Disk to your \LANTASTI
       subdirectory.

    5) Run STARTNET.BAT to start the LANtastic NOS.


4. Unload

   To unload this driver, firstly remove the AILANBIOS, then remove the
   driver, as shown below:

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

• Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

• If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

• Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

• Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

• Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

• From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

• Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
