Installation Guide

The installation consists of 2 parts:
- installation of the ACS driver.
- updating pcsc middleware drivers (pcscd)

1) updating of the pcsc middleware drivers (pcscd):
  - download pcsc-lite-1.1.1 from http://www.linuxnet.com/middleware (also included in this package)
  - Use Project Builder to build the pcsc-lite package.  
    (for instructions to download project builder, please go to http://developer.apple.com/macosx)
  - Copy the components (built by the above program) pcscd and PCSC.framework into '/usr/sbin' and '/System/Library/Frameworks' respectively.  

2) Installation of the ACS driver:
  - Double click on the ACR38Driver.pkg and the driver will be installed into
	/usr/local/pcsc/drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
