    1.  Installation for Windows
    ============================
    - Please execute installation of driver software from this CD after
      ending all other applications.

    - PC reboot might be required after installation of driver software
      depending on the environment for usage.
       *PC might be forcibly rebooted in silent installation.


    =====================================================
    2.  How to Uninstall Completely
                for Windows 2000/XP
    =====================================================
    Complete unisntallation deletes all files which install from this CD.

    Note: In case of using Star USB Vendor Class Driver or other Star Printers,
          please do not do "uninstall completely" because those devices
          use same modules, if delete all modules, Star Printers cannot
          work correctly.

    <Win2K, WinXP>

        1. Power OFF the printer.

        2. Execute uninstaller to add two command line options as followings.

           D:\Win\Setup.exe /X /V"ALLDELETE=1"

           or  you can execute complete uninstall with bat file.

           D:\Win\Sub\AllDelete_x86.bat

        3. After finish to uninstall files, reboot PC.

        "D" is current CD-ROM drive.


    ========================================================
    3.  Notification:  Uninstallation under Windows Vista/7
    ========================================================
    Please take care following points when uninstall software under Windows
    Vista/7.

    - StarMicronics folder
      In some cases, even execute uninstaller, following folder do not delete.

           [Start Menu] -> [All Programs] -> [StarMicronics]
           C:\Program Files\StarMicronics

      It is no problem even that folder do not delete. In case you need to
      delete, please delete folder after to check no files under that folder.

    - Language Monitor, USB Vendor Class Driver
      Language Monitor and USB Vendor Class Driver files will not be deleted
      after execute uninstallation. Because of system requirements, Microsoft
      does not recommend to delete such files.

      "C": Drive letter which you use.

    4.  Silent Installations
    ========================
    Silent Installtion allows you to use a file to predefined all the answers
    that you would normally supply to the setup program interactively;
    this provides you with the ability to script the installation of multiple
    PCs.

    you can run the command as follows:

    Note: When "Silent installation" is executed in the Win2K/XP, PC might
          be rebooted.
          Please execute "Silent installation" after ending all other
          applications in the Win2K/XP.

    Windows Vista/7: Please execute command prompt as administlator.

    Silent Uninstallation is uninstallation that no on-screeen messages will be
    displayed at any time during the execution of the Silent Uninstallation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
