This is README file for UNIX Printer Driver package.
The package contains several architecture-specific compressed
tar files:
- for IBM AIX on Power:
unix/packages/aix_power/aix_power.tar.gz
- for HP-UX on Itanium:
unix/packages/hpux_itanium/hpux_itanium.tar.gz
- for HP-UX on PA-RISC:
unix/packages/hpux_parisc/hpux_parisc.tar.gz
- for Solaris on SPARC:
unix/packages/solaris_sparc/solaris_sparc.tar.gz
- for Solaris on x86 (Intel/AMD-based pc):
unix/packages/solaris_x86/solaris_x86.tar.gz
The User Manual document is located at:
unix/docs/English/UNIX_Printer_Driver_User_Manual.doc
To install UNIX Printer Driver choose appropriate archive
from the list above and unpack it on the target computer.
For example, for Solaris on SPARC do:
cd {somewhere_on_hard_disk}
gzip -dc {cdroom_directory}/unix/packages/solaris_sparc/solaris_sparc.tar.gz | tar -xf -
After unpacking follow the instructions of the User Manual, section 2.4.
Installation process and other steps are identical for all supported
architectures.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
