UPDATE THROUGH PARALLEL PORT:
2. Connect Dell Laser Printer 1720dn to the computer through parallel cable
3. Make sure the the printer is turned on
4. Open MS-DOS Prompt (on Windows OS) by going to Start->Run, type "cmd"
5. In command prompt, type:copy /b LE.PM.P124.updpage.fls lpt1:
6. Wait till the printer goes back to ready state. Restart the printer.
7. In command prompt, type:copy /b LE.PM.P124.updnet.fls lpt1:
8. Wait till the printer goes back to ready state. Restart the printer and start using it.

UPDATE THROUGH EMBEDDED WEB SERVER:
1. Enter the IP address of the adapter into the address field in your web browser.
2. Click the 'Configuration' button.
3. Select the 'Update Print Server Firmware' link.
4. Enter the filename or use the 'Browse' button to locate the file "LE.PM.P124.updpage.fls".
5. Click the 'Flash' button to begin the flashing process.
6. Wait till the printer goes back to ready state. Restart the printer.
7. Repeat the process for LE.PM.P124.updnet.fls

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
