Installation steps for Windows Vista Operating Systems:

1.  Enter the "X86" folder, if you attempt to install the driver for Vista 32-bit
    Operating Systems.
    
    Enter the "X64" folder, if you attempt to install the driver for Vista 64-bit
    Operating Systems.
    

2.  Copy all driver files from the installation package and copy to floppy, 
    CD/DVD or USB stick.
    

3.  During the Windows Vista installation, after selecting the location to 
    install Vista, click Load Driver to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver.

4.  When prompted, insert the media (floppy, CD/DVD or USB stick) you 
    created in step 1 and press Enter.

5.  At this point you should be presented with a selection from listed items 
    depending on your hardware
    version and configuration:
    - AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller Driver
    - AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller
    - AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller - DC5750
    - AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller - HP5850

6.  Highlight the selection that is appropriate for the 
    hardware in your system and press Enter.

7.  Press Enter again to continue. Note that please leave the floppy disk in the 
    system until the next reboot as the software will need to be copied from the 
    floppy disk again when setup is copying files.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
