Installer package for release version 12.4.4 containing driver version 12.4.4.5 and PROSet/Wireless utility version 12.4.4 supporting Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 and Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300.

Release Highlights: 
* Update to improve smartcard behavior.
* Update to improve Meru Virtual Cell interoperability.

Known Issues:
* When prompted to enter username and password, if the wrong information is entered, the software will not reprompt for the correct information.  Workaround is to reapply the profile to see the prompt again.
* In some cases, adapter will be slow to connect to a network, especially when multiple stealth SSID's are set up on a single AP.  Workaround is to align the SSID's on the AP or broadcast the SSIDs.
* May see a false DCOM error after installing the software package.  This is explained in a Microsoft KB article "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899965/en-us" and installation has actually completed successfully.
* May experience authentication issues with Juniper Steel Belted Radius authentication servers.  Customer may contact Juniper Networks for resolution.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
