Broadcom Management (DASH) Firmware README
==========================================

Firmware
--------
To update the management firmware in a BCM5761 or BCM5761E device:

1. From DOS, run "b57diag -b57eng".

2. Use the "seprg -a filename" command to install the management firmware
   into the device's NVRAM (e.g. "seprg -a dash100.bin").

3. You can use the "dir" command to verify the device's NVRAM contents,
including the version of the management firmware installed.

4. You should then use the "mancfg" command to:

   a. Import an example configuration file (e.g. "mancfg -i dashfw.cfg").

   b. Change management configuration settings to your preferences ("mancfg").

   c. Import the system's ASF System Description Table ("mancfg -a").

   d. Import the system's SMBIOS Structure Table ("mancfg -s").

   e. Encrypt user account configuration records ("mancfg -e40").

5. You must use the "setman -e" command to enable the management firmware
(if you have not already done so at any time).

6. You may use the "apeinfo" command to verify that the management firmware
is running and what version is running.

Note: To program management firmware v0.95 or later, you must use b57diag.exe
v11.06 (04/16/08) or later (or you will get an "invalid CRC" error).

Note: You may leave b57diag.exe running while remotely managing the system
(e.g. identify, query, control, subscribe to events, etc.)
