Instructions: (Read Carefully) Put "AecClock.exe" into (create new directory) a directory on your hard drive (c:\aectime). It has been determined that this service will NOT run if the location that it is saved at (ie: the directory) is visible on the network to other computers (ie: shared drive/directory). Put the program in a non-shared directory that has a short (8 char or less) file path. The FIRST time that you run this program, it will bring up a GUI for you to select your operational parameters. (After you SAVE your settings and exit the program, the GUI will NOT run again unless you do this: Select "Start"...Run... then select the 'AecClock.exe' file so that the command line in the RUN option is "c:\aectime\AecClock.exe -setup" (ie: run the program with the "-setup" argument) Click on the help/info button for more info, and please call/email AEC support if you have any questions. Be sure to select "USB" as approapriate for your time code reader source. You will probably also want to select "LOCAL" and 0 for hour, minute, seconds and milliseconds. The other "slop" and "interval" don't make much difference, but I suggest "5 Sec" and "100 mSec" for interval and slop respectively. Read the 'info/help' when the program runs for additional help and hints. The time offset can be set to just about any time from 00:00:00:000 to 23:59:59:999 (hour:min:sec:milliseconds) to compensate for time zone offsets or other latency in the time code signal versus the 'time' of the PC. ***NOTE that if the time code time is NOT the same as your 'local' time then you will want to either select "SYSTEM" (if TC is same a GMT) or make some adjustments to the time 'Offsets' as needed. Keep in mind that once the service is LOADED (setting saved to the registry) it will NOT start until the next reboot OR until started manually via the "service control panel" ( control panel / admin tools / services ).
