Installation Instructions
=========================

It's best to install the drivers BEFORE installing the modem. If you don't do this, Windows will automatically install native Microsoft drivers which are not TAPI compliant.

First, unzip the drivers to a temporary folder (if you have not done so already). This folder can be deleted once the drivers are installed. Double-click the "setup.exe" file to install the driver.

Now shut down the computer, unplug the power cord, and install the modem. Once the modem is installed, re-attach the power cord and turn on the computer. Windows informs you that the modem is installed. Go into the program configuration (CallStation, Phone Plus, or IDentify!) and make sure that the modem is properly selected. You should be ready to go.

Note: If you install the modem before you install the drivers, you can still install the correct drivers by double-clicking the "setup.exe" file. Windows should replace the default Microsoft drivers with the new drivers. If you want to be extra safe, you can uninstall the original default drivers first.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
