[Notes/Limitations]
1. Note for HP LJ8100 users:
The older Hewlett Packard LaserJet 8100 PCL 6 driver may interfere with
the PostScript driver. To avoid this problem use LaserJet 8100 PCL6 driver
V4.3.2.38 or later.

2. Collation:
Collation should only be performed by the driver.
Do not use application collate functions. Doing so can result in unexpected side effects.

3. A hard disk is required for the following Job Types:
Sample Print, Locked Print, Hold Print, Stored Print, Store and Print, Document Server
Even if the driver is connected to a device that doesn't have a hard disk, the above listed Job Types can still be selected. If a job that uses one of these Job Types is submitted to a printer that doesnft have a hard disk, the job will be cancelled by the printer.

4. IE5 and Sample Printing:
Instead of just 1 sample copy being printed, all copies of Sample Print jobs will be printed.
Furthermore all of the copies will be stored on the device as a single job.

5. Staple/Punch:
Stapling/punching can be selected even if the job is being output to a tray other than a finisher tray.
However in this case, the stapling/punching will be cancelled by the printer.

6. Staple/Punch/Z-Folding with Landscape documents:
Staple/punch/z-folding might be out of position if printing Landscape documents. If this occurs, please try any of the following:
  a. Select "Landscape" for the "Orientation Override" setting.
  b. Select "Rotated Landscape" for the "Orientation" setting.
  c. Select "Off" for the "Orientation Override" setting, and enable the "Rotate by 180 degrees" setting.

7. Paper types that require the Bypass tray:
Some paper types such as Labels, Thick, and Transparency, can only be printed from the Bypass Tray. If one of these paper types is to be used, please make sure that the Bypass tray is the output tray. Do not use auto tray selection.

8. Custom Size Setup:
A warning message might be displayed on a PC when Custom paper sizes
are configured even if the custom paper sizes are within the minimum/maximum
size limits. Alternatively, a job will be cancelled with no warning message
shown on the PC if custom paper sizes are NOT within the minimum/maximum size
limits. In either case, please enlarge/reduce the values to be more/less than
the entered values even if they are within the available range.

9. Separator Page:
(Windows 2000/XP/Server2003/Vista/Server2008/7)
If a Separator Page is selected, some document may not be printed
as expected.

10. The effect of duplex jobs on the page counter:
Some applications add a blank page to the end of odd-paged duplex jobs.
This added page might be counted by the page counter.

11. Form To Tray Assignment:
We do not recommend changing any of the settings under the heading "Form To Tray Assignment".

12. Booklet printing with Adobe Acrobat:
The use of the Booklet function with Adobe Acrobat documents might result in anomalies.

13. Preprinted, Prepunched and Letterhead paper types:
If use Preprinted, Prepunched or Letterhead paper types for the printing of
Landscape document, it might be printed with the unexpected orientation.

14. Simplified Chinese fonts:
The use of multiple Simplified Chinese fonts in the same document might result in anomalies.

15. Chinese editions of PageMaker:
Printing from Chinese editions of PageMaker, require the use of the English PostScript Universal driver.

16. 1200 dpi printing from Visio2002 is not supported:
If anomalies occur, please lower the resolution to 600 dpi.

17. Print From Microsoft Word enabling Slip Sheet:
If print from Microsoft Word enabling Slip Sheet, Slip Sheet feeding may
not be conducted properly. In this case, perform printing after selecting
"Automatically Select" in "Detailed Settings" -> "Menu" -> "Paper"
-> "Paper Source" -> "Automatically Select".

18. Output Protocol for redirected ports:
If a network port is forwarded to an LPT or USB port, please make sure that the driver's "Output Protocol" is "ASCII".

19. Displayed file names on the operation panel:
Filenames consisting of 2-byte or extended ASCII characters will not be correctly displayed on the operation panel.

20. CMYK used for Black and White Documents:
Black and White documents might be printed in full color (CMYK).
To ensure that the job prints using pure Black (K), please change the
color mode to "Black and White".

21. Image Smoothing:
When "Image Smoothing" applied to image data with IndexColor mode,
the printing quality of the image may not be the best.
Please turn "Image Smoothing" off before printing under the circumstances.

22. Do not use "ICM Handled by Printer" with "Output Protocol = TBCP":
If the setting "ICM Method > ICM Handled by Printer" is used with "Output Protocol = TBCP", jobs will be reset.

23. N-up with Full Bleed paper sizes:
The use of Page Layout (N-up) with Full Bleed paper sizes might result in slightly large page images than if a normal paper size were used.

24. Scale to Fit:
(Windows 2000/XP/Server2003/Vista/Server2008/7)
When printing from certain applications, the "Scale to Fit" function is
ineffective if the print data contains images.

25. Enable advanced printing features:
(Windows 2000/XP/Server2003/Vista/Server2008/7)
The following features can not be used if "Enable advanced printing
features" is disabled.
    - Booklet
    - Page Order
    - Draw Border
    - Pages per Sheet Layout
    - Booklet Binding Edge

26. Help pointer ("?" button):
(Windows 2000/XP/Server2003)
Nothing is displayed if the help pointer is used on an element in Printing
Preferences.
(Windows Vista/Server2008/7)
Nothing is displayed if the help pointer is used on an element in Printing
Preferences or Printer Properties.

Instead of using the help pointer, please press the "Help" button to get
information about objects in the driver dialogue.

27. Page Layout (N-up) function:
(Windows 2000/XP/Server2003/Vista/Server2008/7)
If "Pages per Sheet" is 2 or more, pages of mixed orientation documents
might not be rotated in the way that is expected by the customer.
To make pages rotate differently, please do the following:
(1) Open "Printers and Faxes".
(2) Select a printer and open its Properties.
(3) Open the "Advanced" tab and click the "Print Processor..." button.
(4) Select "WinPrint" from the list of print processors.

28. Negative Output function:
The PostScript Universal driver does support the "Negative Output" function. This function is supported by some other PostScript drivers.

29. Default "Current Printer"
(Windows 2000/XP/Server2003/Vista/Server2008/7)
Default "Current Printer" is "Aficio MP C7500".

30. Slip Sheets

Even if the device has an interposer, it cannot be configured
as an accessory in the PS driver.

31. Utilities
This driver supports the use of PrinterSwitcher v1.0.2.0 or later.
If the driver's "Automatically Update Printer Information" setting is disabled, device accessories will not be updated automatically. This could cause problems if using PrinterSwitcher.
