Contents SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS INSTALLATION NOTE - Supported operating systems This driver operates for the following OSs. Windows Vista (SP1 or later recommended) Windows Server 2008 Windows Server 2008 R2 Windows 7 - Installation (1) From the Windows desktop, click Start, select Control Panel, and then double-click Printers. Double-click the Add Printer icon to launch the Add Printer Wizard. (2) Select either "Add a Local printer" or "Add a Network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer." If you select "Add a Local printer," select a printer port by clicking the corresponding checkbox, and then click "Next". If you select "Add a Network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer," select the desired network printer, and then click "Next." (3) Click "Have Disk". The Install From Disk dialog box is displayed. In the Install From Disk dialog box, type the letter for the drive which contains the installation package, and then click "OK". A list of available printers will be displayed. Select your printer from the list, and then click "Next." (4) Follow the on-screen instructions of the printer wizard. A dialog box will appear with the text, "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software." When this dialog box appears, click "Install this driver software anyway," and continue the installation. - Note * The XPS driver will only work with Vista applications that support XPS printing. * To actually use accessories for the printer such as an additional paper source tray, the installed accessories have to be defined on the Properties page of the printer. Please follow the steps below to configure your printer's accessories. (1) From the Windows desktop, click Start, select Control Panel, and then double-click Printers. (2) Right-click the icon for your printer, and then click Properties. (3) On the Device Settings tab, under Installable Options, click the accessories that have been installed with your printer. Installed accessories can be set automatically by performing the following steps. (1) From the Windows desktop, click Start, select Control Panel, and then click Printers. (2) Right-click the printer you want to make it available, and then click Properties. (3) On the Device Settings tab, under Installable Options, select "Implement by Update Now" in "Specify Automatic Configuration." When the update is complete, the updated settings will be displayed in bold. Click "Apply" to save the updated settings. * A yellow "!" icon is displayed when a setting that is unavailable for your printer has been selected. Please modify the settings that have a yellow "!" icon displayed. * In the printer Properties dialog, under Feed Direction in the Device Settings tab, please select a paper direction setting that matches your device's actual configuration. Selecting a setting that is different from the actual device configuration will slow down the printing process. * It may take some time for the printer Properties page to be displayed from the Printer Folder. * If your printer has a sort function, this setting can be enabled by configuring a corresponding setting from within an application's print dialog box. For example, in Microsoft Word, the sort function can be enabled by enabling the "Collate" option from the print dialog. * Please create custom paper sizes by using the Windows Print Server settings. The procedure is as follows. (1) From the Windows desktop, click Start, select Control Panel, and then click Printers. (2) Without selecting a printer, right-click the Printers and Faxes window, and then click "Server Properties". (3) In the Forms tab, click "Create a new form." Specify the custom paper size measurements and a name for the form, and then click "Save Form." When using custom paper sizes, please select the appropriate tray from the "Paper Source" setting in "Printing Preferences" - "Paper/Quality". If "Auto Tray Select" is selected, the custom size paper might not be correctly fed into the printer. * The Paper available in the General tab will always be Letter or A4 regardless of the paper in the printer or the settings in the driver. * Lines might be omitted from jobs if they are less than 1 pixel in width. * To avoid possible jams, custom paper sizes should be positioned in the tray so that they are fed short edge first. * The Client drivers can not be installed on the Server PC for Point & Print under a specific set of conditions. This only happens if the either the client or server is x64 and the other is x86. * Automatic configuration of printer accessories might result in an error. However, the error can immediately be resolved by pressing the Apply button. * Black and White documents might be printed in full color (CMYK). To ensure that the job prints using pure Black (K), please change the Color Printing Mode to "Monochrome".
