SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT
YOU, THE END USER, SHALL USE THIS SOFTWARE("THE SOFTWARE") ACCORDING TO THE
TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT.
BY LOADING THE SOFTWARE INTO ANY COMPUTER, YOU ARE AGREEING TO BE BOUND BY
THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, YOU MAY NOT LOAD
THIS SOFTWARE INTO ANY COMPUTER.
Grant of License
The Software is licensed for use by you for the equipment packaged with the
Software or designated by its supplier ("the equipment"). You are permitted to
use the Software on any computer which permits electronic access to the
equipment. You are not permitted to rent or lease the Software or to transfer
your rights under this license to a third party.
Acceptance
You shall be deemed to have accepted the terms of this Agreement by loading the
Software into any computer.
Duration
This license is effective until terminated. The license will terminate where
you fail to comply with the terms of this Agreement. Upon termination, you
agree to destroy all copies of the Software and its documentation.
Ownership of Software
You own, if any, only the magnetic media on which the Software has been
delivered. It is an express condition of this Agreement that the title and
ownership of the Software shall be retained by its owners.
Copying
The Software and its documentation are the subject of Copyright.
You may not make any copies nor cause others to make copies of the Software
except such copies as are necessary for licensed use and one copy for
operational security. Any such copies are subject to the conditions of this
Agreement.
You may not modify, adapt, merge, translate, reverse engineer, decompile,
disassemble or create derivative works based on the whole or any part of the
Software or its associated documentation.
You may be held legally responsible for any copyright infringement,
unauthorized transfer, reproduction or use of the Software or its
documentation.
Limitation of Warranty
The media, if any, not the Software contained therein, is warranted to the
original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship for a period of
one year from the date of original purchase. Defective media will be replaced
when it is returned to your supplier, postage prepaid, along with a copy of the
purchase receipt.
THESE RIGHTS ARE YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, WHETHER IN TORT, CONTRACT, OR
OTHERWISE. IN NO EVENT SHALL SUPPLIER, OWNER OF THE SOFTWARE OR ITS LICENSORS
BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES (INCLUDING ANY FOR LOSS OF INFORMATION, PROFITS, SAVINGS
OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION OR OTHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL
OR SPECIAL DAMAGES) ARISING OUT OF THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE THEREOF, OR THE
INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE.
Exporting Law
You acknowledge that the export of the Software is governed by the export
control laws of the United States and other countries. You agree to comply with
all such export control laws.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
If any provision or portion of this Agreement shall be found to be illegal,
invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force
and effect. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of California, USA and
is subject to the jurisdiction of the Federal District courts for the Central
District of California by a judge and not a jury.

Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Server2003/Server2008/Vista/7(x86/x64) LAN-FAX Driver

Introduction
This readme file contains information about using LAN-FAX driver for
Windows 2000/XP/Server2003/Server2008/Vista/7. Please make sure to read this before
installing LAN-FAX driver.
Note : LAN-FAX driver is treated as Printer Driver in Windows OS.
The following procedure uses Windows XP.
Other Windows: Some procedures are different.

[1]How to install LAN-FAX driver
(1) Installing LAN-FAX driver at the first time
If you are installing this product at the first time, please follow these
steps;
* Make sure to close all applications before installing.
-1 Start Windows and log on as Administrators.
-2 When using a driver downloaded from the Internet:
After downloading the driver from the Internet, extract the file(s)
to a folder of your choice.
-3 From the [Start] menu, click [Printers and Faxes].
In the [Printer Tasks] click [Add a printer] , and click
"Next >".
-4 Follow the Wizard guidance and select a printer connection method
(Local or Network Printer), then click "Next >" to continue.
-5 The following explanation applies when the user has selected a
[Local] connection method. Please select the port to connect the
printer, and click "Next>" to continue.
-6 Specify the folder of the driver files.
A) To install the downloaded driver, click [Have Disk] then [Browse]
to locate the folder where you had extracted the downloaded
driver, from this folder select Disk 1, then click "OK".
B) To install from the CD, insert the CD-ROM into the CD ROM drive,
[Have Disk] button in "Manufacturers:" / "Printers:" window, then
enter the path (e.g. D:\DRIVERS\LAN-FAX\XP_VISTA\language name\DISK1\) of the
designated drive then click "OK". (You can also navigate to the
drive by clicking the [Browse] button.).
-7 Select the printer to use. After selecting, click "Next >".
-8 Specify printer name. And if you want to use installed printer as
the default printer, check "Yes". After specifying, click "Next >".
-9 If you want to share installed printer with other network users,
indicate and set sharing. After above, click "Next >".
-10 Print test page to confirm that the printer is set up properly.
Check on "Yes(recommended)", then click "Finish", and finally, the
installation is completed.
After completing above operation, you can use LAN-FAX driver.
(2) Uninstalling LAN-FAX driver
* Make sure to close all applications before uninstalling.
- 1 Open [Printers] or [Printers and Faxes] folder in [Settings] or
[Control Panel] from [Start] menu.
- 2 Select the printer you want to uninstall.
- 3 Press [Delete] key
- 4 Select "Driver" tab in Server Property from File menu in Printers
folder.
- 5 Select the driver you want to uninstall.
- 6 Press [Delete] key
If you are using Windows Vista, you are asked to choose "Remove
driver only" or "Remove driver and driver package". Please choose
the latter.
(3) Updating LAN-FAX driver
Please follow these installation steps to update the printer driver from
old version to new version;
- 1 Uninstall the printer driver with the same steps as (2)
"Uninstalling LAN-FAX driver"
- 2 Install new version of the LAN-FAX driver with the same step
as (1) "Installing at the first time."
* If you want to print for testing, please do after the restarting your PC.
- 3 Please restart your PC.
After completing above operation, you can use printer driver of new version.
(4) Notes
-1 During the LAN-FAX driver installation, Windows may alert that Windows
can't verify the publisher of this driver. However, the LAN-FAX driver
functionality is not affected. Please continue the installation.
-2 When you cannot install the "Printer driver from a driver & utility CD"
on the OS of Windows 7/Server2008 R2, Please install by
"(1) Installing LAN-FAX driver at the first time" procedure.

[Windows functions]
* If virtual memory on a Windows operating system is set lower than usual,
insufficient memory errors will occur and drawing operations in
applications or printer drivers will not perform properly.
Documents might not fax correctly or the following problems might occur:
- Low memory warnings.
- Application errors.
- Printing discontinues without warning.
Increase the memory setting for virtual memory, and then start printing.
if this is not helpful, add additional memory to the computer.
* If a Separator Page is selected, some documents may not print as expected.
* Please do not change the "Driver" settings on "Advanced" tab.
(2) Limitation/Notes on Bi-directional Communication
* Please do not uncheck the "Enable bidirectional support" on "Ports" tab.
(3) Other Notes
* How to remove the Address book
The LAN-FAX address book disk file was located in the disk location
%TEMP%\printer_name\faxtoset.cfg
The "printer_name" is "Printer Name" when you installed the LAN-FAX Driver.
%TEMP% is a system Environment Variable, for example,
TEMP=C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp.
You can query this environment variable by typing the "Set TEMP" command under DOS prompt.
The "printer_name" is the name of the printer icon in the printer folder.
Here are examples of LAN-FAX address book disk file location.
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\printer_name LAN-FAX\faxtoset.cfg
If you want to remove adress book, please delete this "faxtoset.cfg" file from your disk.
* If you can not show the folder and file of this to remove the Address Book file, it might be set
"Do not show hidden files and folders" by windows. Then , you can change the setting by Explorer.
Please change the setting "Show hidden files and folders" on Folder Options setting.
(View tab -> Advanced Settings: -> File and Folders)
Then you can see the all hidden folders and files. You have to take care any files and folders.
If you can change hidden files , it have a risk for your PC's running. Please change setting
with your own risks. If you can not change this setting , please confirm your PC's administrator.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
