(2) Click "Start" and select "Run...". (3) Click "Browse...", select "CheckEnv.exe" in the folder above and click "OK". ============================================================================ Cautions for the WindowMovie mode and the DesktopViewer use. ============================================================================ 1, Gamma Control, etc. The PC or the graphics card must support the following features when using the WindowMovie mode or the DesktopViewer: E Gamma Control, DirectDraw, Overlay This utility can check if the PC or the graphics card supports those functions above. (For the multi-monitor system, this program must be run on each monitor.) 2, Graphics Memory The PC or the graphics card with a small graphics memory (RAM) does not achieve overlay at such high resolution and color mode requiring a big graphics memory. For example, an 8 MB graphics memory cannot achieve overlay at more than 1024x768 in the full-color (24 bit) mode. In this case, the number of display colors and the display resolution must be decreased. However, the overlay area is always displayed in full-colors regardless of the number of the colors. 3, Movie File Some movie files may not allow the WindowMovie mode and the DesktopViewer to function. The following movie files do not support the WindowMovie mode and the DesktopViewer: E Non-archived AVI file, RLE-archived AVI file, Non-archived MOV file 4, Overlay Window Only one Overlay window can be opened at a time in the Windows system even though the WindowMovie mode and the DesktopViewer use the Windows Overlay. Therefore, only one application in the WindowMovie mode or the DesktopViewer can be opened at a time. The application window must be closed before opening another application. When double-clicking the target file icon to open the movie file, the Windows Explorer may preview it. If it happens, Overlay will not work on the target application window. In that case, the Explorer must be closed or the preview must be set disabled in advance. (To disable the preview function of the Explorer, The web display must be set "Use the previous Windows folder" at the folder option menu.) Or first run the target application as the Windows Media Player and play the overlay movie. The application will be overlaid as a priority.
