To view README.TXT on screen in Windows Notepad, maximize the 
Notepad window.

To print README.TXT, open it in Windows Write, Microsoft Word, 
or another word processor.  Then select the entire document 
and format the text in 10-point Courier before printing.

// 1. Installation

Important notes:

  1) This driver supports the TD35 modems 
   
  2) This version of drivers was tested with Microsoft 
     Windows 2000/XP Professional and Windows 98 platforms.

  3) The driver consist of the files wmotd35.inf, wmotd35.cat
     and README.TXT (this file)


To install your modem drivers for the first time:
-------------------------------------------------
The modem driver can be installed automatic by the system or manually 
by the user.

Automatic installation:

  a) Turn your PC off.
 
  b) Plug in the modem into a COM port on the PC.

  c) Restart your PC.

  d) Windows 98/2000/XP will instantly detect the modem and will start 
     software installation.

  e) When requested, point to the modem installation directory on the 
     floppy disk or CD-ROM. 

  f) Modem drivers will be installed.


Manually installation:

  a) Plug in the modem into a COM port on the PC.

  b) Install new modem in the control panel by following the installation 
     wizard "Start > Settings > Control Panel > Modems".

  c) When requested, point to the modem installation directory on the 
     floppy disk or CD-ROM. 

  D) Modem drivers will be installed.

// 2. How to verify installation

To verify that the modem is installed correctly, follow these 
steps:

  a) In "Control Panel > Modems": check for the presence of your modem.

  b) In "Control Panel > Modems > Properties > Diagnostics" click on 
     "Query Modem" button and check that the modem responds.

To Check that the modem is working properly:
  
  a) Run Hyper Terminal.
  b) Select the "Westermo TD35 Serial (PnP) Modem" or "Direct to port" option.
  c) Type ATI1, ATI2 or ATI3 and make sure you receive the modem IDs. 
  d) Dial any accessible phone number, and see that that phone rings.
  e) Dial to another modem (ATDTxxx or via the dial button of the     
     TAPI interface) and see that a modem session is established.

     If you have successfully connected, then the modem has been     
     successfully installed.

// 3. Uninstall Procedure

  a) In "Start > Settings > Control Panel > Modems" choose 
     "Westermo TD35 Serial (PnP) Modem".

  b) Click the "Add/Remove" button.

  c) Modem drivers will now be removed.

  d) Restart or shutdown your computer.

To update your modem drivers, uninstall previous drivers 
(see above procedure) and reboot your system.

Then repeat the Installation process, as described in the 
above procedure.

  5.1 The drivers are not currently signed by Microsoft so there can be 
      some warnings or trouble when installing the drivers. Please refer
      to your Microsoft system about driver signability.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
