3/16/2004 (5.13.01.0267, 6.13.01.0267)
Release for Win2K/XP with PMI support

Step 1
------

Before you do anything, you need to create a PMI file. This file will contain
a language description as per VESA SVPMI spec how to program modes for the
current chip and panel configurations.

You need to do this under DOS with the card you want to create modes for as
the primary VGA adapter (it CANNOT work with the SMI as a secondary adapter
since this is DOS and there is no way of mapping the SMI BIOS in place).

Just use the SMIPMI program (SMIPMI -? for help) to create the PMI file for
all modes for both SIMUL and CRT-ONLY mode. You can always edit the PMI file
if you don't need a specific [ADAPTER] (there are two: CRT-ONLY and SIMUL).

Step 2
------

Copy the PMI file you just created in step 1 to the Windows NT System32
directory (or any other directory of your liking).

Step 3
------

Now you need to configure the Windows 2000 registry to enable the driver to
use the PMI file you just created in step 1. In the registry go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SMIMINI

Here, create a new String Value with the name "PMIFile". For the value, you
need to provide the fully quallified KERNEL filename where the PMI file is
located. This means you have the prepend the filename with "\??\" and you should
include the full path, including drive letter. For example:

	PMIFile=\??\C:\WinNT\System32\SM720.PMI

Step 4
------

Reboot your system and everything should be working as expected.

Alternate Step 2-4
------------------

An alternate way to copy the files and update the registry is by changing the
supplied INF file. This file will automatically copy the PMI file to the
System32 directory and change the registry for you once you select to install
this driver. Be sure to change the name of the PMI file inside the INF file
(there are 3 places) and the path of your Windows NT configuration if it is not
located in the "C:\WinNT" directory.
