This folder contains alternative "D2XX" drivers for the USB232 and USB485 devices, rather than the usual "VCP" (Virtual COM Port) drivers. DO NOT INSTALL THESE DRIVERS IF YOU WANT THE DEVICE TO APPEAR AS A COM PORT - INSTALL THE NORMAL VCP DRIVERS INSTEAD. The D2XX drivers are provided for Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows CE.NET, Mac OS X and Linux. They cannot be installed at the same time as the normal "VCP" drivers. No separate D2XX drivers are provided for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008. The normal "CDM" (Combined Driver Model) drivers installed for these operating systems combine the normal VCP and the D2XX interfaces. The DLL for the D2XX library (ftd2xx.dll) is installed as part of the driver installation. The C header file, and DLL import libraries for Microsoft Visual C++ are in the "Win XP, Vista, 7, 2000-2008" folder. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
