Driver Limitations:
===================
- The following USB 2.0 devices and features are not supported
in this driver release:
- USB 2.0 Isochronous devices (example: USB 2.0 webcams and
USB 2.0 speakers).
- Composite USB 2.0 Devices.
- USB Remote Wake Up.
- Some devices which implement USB 2.0 interrupts may not work
properly.
- Some USB 1.1 composite devices may not work properly if connected
to a USB 2.0 Hub. (example: MIDI-interface, headphones/microphone
system, and some keyboards).
- This driver does not currently support multiprocessor systems
under Windows 2000.
- Currently the following systems are not supported with the Adaptec
USB 2.0 CardBus and USB 2.0 Drivers.
- IBM ThinkPad X20
- Compaq EVO N150
Notes:
======
- Do not attempt to put the system into standby or hibernation
during data transfer (I/O activity) with a USB device.
- The first time a USB device is plugged into a USB port, the
system may prompt you to locate the driver for that USB
device and request a restart.
- Do not add or remove USB devices while the system is in standby
or hibernation.
- Please check your device manufacturer's web site for the latest
updates to their software.
Troubleshooting Info:
=====================
- If you attempt to put the system into standby or hibernation
during data transfer (I/O activity) with a USB device, you may
experience problems with your system. Please do not attempt to
put the system into standby or hibernation during I/O activity
with a USB device.
- When using Windows Me, the Device Manager will have a green
question mark next to any USB 2.0 device which is connected
to an Adaptec USB 2.0 card. The device will continue to
function properly.
- When using Windows 98SE, the Adaptec USB 2.0 driver may prevent
some systems from entering into standby mode.
- The system may report that a USB 2.0 CD-RW connected to an
Adaptec AUA-2000LP card does not contain any media when
resuming from a suspend. To workaround this issue, use the
"unplug or eject hardware" icon in the system to remove the
USB 2.0 CD-RW. Unplug the USB 2.0 CD-RW from the card, and
then plug it back in.
- If you unplug/re-plug a device too quickly, the system may
not recognize the USB device. To workaround this issue, allow
at least 3 seconds between a unplug and re-plug.
- Removing two or more devices using the "unplug or eject"
hardware icon (on the system tray): Use the "unplug or eject"
icon to remove one device, then physically remove the device,
before attempting to use the "unplug or eject" icon to remove
other devices. If you attempt to remove more than one device
using the "unplug or eject icon," physically removing a USB
device will cause the other devices to re-enumerate.
- When using Windows 2000, with certain CD-RW applications
running, the system may stall if a USB CD-RW drive is
removed using the "unplug or eject hardware" icon in the
system tray.
- Before making any changes through the device manager to enable
or disable the Adaptec Enhanced Host Controller, stop all USB
devices connected to the Adaptec host bus adapter or CardBus and
remove the USB devices from the system.
- When connected to an Adaptec USB 2.0 Hub, Creative USB 1.1 webcams,
may not re-enumerate if you put the system into standby mode.
To workaround this issue, unplug and re-plug the webcam.
- When using an HP PSC-750 printer/scanner/copier or an Tascam
USB-428 audio/MIDI interface, we recommend connecting the device
directly to your USB card or built-in USB port rather than
through a Hub.
- When using the Adaptec AUA-1420 CardBus card, Adaptec USB 2.0
drivers, and the Xircon Ethernet CardBus card, with Windows
2000, the ethernet card may not work properly. This will be
addressed in a future release of our drivers.
- Before removing an Adaptec AUA-1420 cardbus card, use the
"unplug or eject" icon (on the system tray) to stop and remove
attached USB devices. Then use the "unplug or eject" icon to stop
the cardbus card. It is then safe to eject the Adaptec AUA-1420
from the cardbus slot.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
